Solemn Valkan (엄숙한 발칸) is the second boss of Cradle of Nihility, the Season 2 Expedition added to the Korean and Taiwanese service on February 11, 2026. He stands between Multiverse Veltiras and the final boss, Afflicted Bakarma. Everything here describes the Korean and Taiwanese service; NCsoft's global notices had not listed the Expeditions open in the global build as of October 7, 2026.

Mechanics
Valkan's defining phase begins when he flies to the far end of the arena and raises tombstones of red and blue. He marks one player with an eye, lifts his shield in a red or blue barrier and declares whether red or blue writing will be carved on that player's tombstone, then charges the marked player. The marked player stands so that the charge strikes a tombstone of the announced colour. Tombstones left standing at the end deal damage to the whole party. Write-ups agree that his first charge in this phase always aims at the same pillar, while later ones vary, and that a successful phase leaves him with lowered defence.
Outside that phase he strikes in combinations of light and heavy blows ending in an upward swing, sometimes aimed at ranged players, pulls everyone towards him with a slow that cure potions remove, and calls up a whirlwind while repeating his combination. His attacks can also break armour, a debuff that since July 1, 2026 ends as soon as he dies.
