Re-verified dated absence claims against the patch log, store listing and public roadmap and re-dated them to September 21, 2026
11This article covers the known issues and active bug fixes for Paralives during its Early Access period, which began on May 25, 2026. Because the game is in Early Access, the build changes frequently and this list is expected to shrink as patches land. The studio published an official known-issues list one day after launch and reported receiving over 150,000 bug reports in the opening weeks.22Official Known Issues44The studio groups acknowledged problems into three categories: performance, Live Mode and Paramaker, and interface and saving. Each is being worked on, and several have player-side workarounds while a fix is pending.66Performance88IssueStatus and workaroundCrashes and freezesPatch 0.1.2 (May 29, 2026) improved memory management to reduce crashes; optimization continues. Players are advised to confirm their machine meets the minimum system requirements.Long game boot timeAcknowledged; the game will eventually load to the main menu. The studio said boot time is to be improved soon.Live Mode stutters and lag spikesAcknowledged; optimization work is planned.1010Live Mode and Paramaker1111IssueStatus and workaroundFire behaviorPatch 0.1.2 (May 29, 2026) improved this: Parafolk can now autonomously extinguish items, fire no longer spreads to stairs or outside lot boundaries, and firefighter calls are no longer always cancelled. Some fire difficulty remains, and the ExtinguishAllFires cheat is available as a fallback.Critical needs blocking interactionsCritical needs can prevent a Parafolk from performing the interactions that would relieve them. A fix is expected soon.Paramaker motion sicknessTo reduce motion sickness while editing characters on the moving train, Patch 0.1.2 (May 29, 2026) added a window divider in the train.1313Interface and Saving1414IssueStatus and workaroundInterface windows will not closeSome interface windows cannot be closed. This was fixed in Patch 0.1.2 (May 29, 2026); if any window still sticks, reloading the save or speeding up time clears it.Save file not loadingSome save files fail to load. Patch 0.1.2 (May 29, 2026) reduced the frequency of corrupted save files; the studio is still investigating the remaining load failures.1616Community-Reported Issues1717Beyond the official list, players reported additional problems in the opening days that the studio acknowledged. These include characters occasionally losing their textures, incorrect interactions with furniture, and Parafolk sometimes giving birth in public streets rather than at home or at a medical venue.1919Day-0 Patch Fixes2121A patch released alongside the launch build (the Day-0 patch on May 25, 2026) had already fixed more than a dozen issues found by reviewers and content creators before release. Fixes included Parafolk no longer walking outside after using the bathroom at home, rugs no longer blocking pathing during astronomy town events, and corrections to first-kiss, first-intimacy, and try-for-baby interactions. The same patch added inventory access from the Live Mode interaction menu, counter meal sales at all five Melino restaurants, rarity-correct sell values for Collectibles, and a foliage-animation intensity slider for accessibility.2323Fixed in Patch 0.1.2 (May 29, 2026)2525The first major post-launch patch, Patch 0.1.2, arrived on May 29, 2026, four days after launch. It is a stability and bug-fix update with no new gameplay systems, in line with the planned June to September stabilization window. By the time it shipped, the studio reported over 150,000 bug and suggestion reports collected from the launch audience. Highlights:2727Stability: improved memory management to eliminate a memory leak and reduce crashes, and an enhanced save system that reduces the frequency of corrupted save files.Performance: the initial loading screen takes up to 20 percent less time, app unresponsiveness during loading was resolved, and pathfinding was optimized to reduce town lag spikes.Fire: Parafolk now have a chance to autonomously extinguish items on fire instead of only panicking, fire no longer spreads to stairs or outside the lot, and firefighter extinguishing is more reliable.Interface: interface windows that could not be closed are now fixed.Paramaker: a window divider was added to the moving train to reduce motion sickness, Chinese character input was fixed, and randomizing a character no longer risks unintended nakedness.Behavior: Parafolk no longer refuse vending-machine snacks when extremely hungry or refuse to sleep in long chairs when exhausted, and an infinite-notification bug from personality leveling was fixed.Items: an item-duplication bug that triggered during swatch changes was fixed.2929Issues still open after Patch 0.1.2 include occasional crashes, freezes, and stutter as optimization continues, some save files that still fail to load, advanced Build Mode widget positions not being retained after a reload, Parafolk occasionally getting stuck (use the Unstuck button), residual fire difficulty (the ExtinguishAllFires cheat is available), Parafolk thumbnail update delays, and input issues on Mac with clicks and camera rotation.3131Hotfix 0.1.2b (June 1, 2026)3333A small hotfix, Patch 0.1.2b, followed on June 1, 2026. It fixed an issue introduced in Patch 0.1.2 where players who had the game installed on a different hard drive than their operating system could not change the display language or install mods. The hotfix added no new gameplay systems; it only addressed that install-location problem.3535Fixed in Patch 0.1.3 (June 6, 2026)3737Patch 0.1.3 arrived on June 6, 2026 with new content and a long fix list. Fixes most relevant to the known-issues set:3939Save system: further improvements reduce the chance of corrupted save files, and the voices of children and pre-teen Parafolk are now audible again.Fire and firefighters: a smoke detector now summons firefighters, fire no longer spreads into areas Parafolk cannot reach (so it can always be extinguished), the firefighter spawn count is capped, firefighters keep their outfit, and they act immediately instead of pausing between interactions.Economy: bills are no longer inflated by a water-consumption bug.Modding: playing with more than 50 Steam Workshop mods now works, and the in-game font supports more characters for translation mods.Pathfinding and objects: an apartment staircase and a hairdresser entrance no longer block Parafolk, ovens in tight spaces are usable, and frozen-pizza cooking glitches are fixed.A regression from 0.1.2 where the train doors stayed open and hid the height-slider ruler in the Paramaker was fixed, along with a camera jump when using the height slider.4141Fixed in Hotfix 0.1.3b (June 12, 2026)4343A small hotfix, Patch 0.1.3b, followed on June 12, 2026. It fixed a launch problem where players who had mods installed could get stuck on a "Reimporting assets" screen when starting the game. The hotfix changed no gameplay systems; it only addressed that mod-loading hang. See Modding and Steam Workshop for mod setup details.4545Fixed in Patch 0.1.4 (June 18, 2026)4747Patch 0.1.4 arrived on June 18, 2026 with a large bug-fix list. The headline reliability change was an improved save system to reduce the chances of save files that can no longer be loaded, with a multiple-autosave system in development. Other fixes included:4949Cooking no longer loses finished meals: if no empty counter is free, the food is sent to the inventory. A group-meal portion-grab bug and an oven-in-tight-space interruption were also fixed.Flushing toilets no longer uses excess water and inflates the bank statement (other water-bill issues remain under investigation).Launching with mods now shows a "Loading mods..." screen instead of a brief freeze at the main menu.Parafolk can no longer be interacted with while on the stairs, preventing them from getting stuck. The "Exclusive Lovers" label is cleared after a break-up, and duplicate propose or relationship wants were fixed.A painting sell-value bug that blocked the Art Bundle 2 Community Center task was fixed.5151Fixed in Hotfix 0.1.4b (June 19, 2026)5353A single-fix hotfix on June 19, 2026 fixed a regression where players could not see or load any of their existing save files.5555Fixed in Patch 0.1.5 (July 2, 2026)5757Patch 0.1.5 arrived on July 2, 2026 and overhauled the save system while clearing several long-standing bugs. New save files dropped from roughly 500 MB to about 30 MB on average, the autosave now keeps the three most recent versions of each save so players can roll back from the Load Game menu, and save files can sync through Steam Cloud. Other fixes:5959Water recyclers, wind turbines, and solar panels on a terrain now reduce the household bills.More edge cases where fires could not be put out on certain lots were resolved.Propose and Elope now complete the Happy Marriage life goal properly.Cancelling Go to Work or school no longer queues up the action every 20 minutes. Some player Paras were being unloaded from the game; this was fixed.Paras in a relationship no longer become embarrassed using the toilet while their partner is in the bathroom.6161Fixed in Patch 0.1.6 (July 16, 2026)6363Patch 0.1.6, released July 16, 2026, closed roughly twenty reported issues alongside its new content.6565Paras did not appear in mirrors; reflections now render them correctly.A newly created Para stayed in the save file when the player quit without saving after creating them.Mac players could not add custom images to the appropriate assets. The mushroom pasta meal could randomly become oversized.Stacking certain items could crash the game, and bulldozing a lot froze the game briefly.A Para could propose to themselves in the Together Cards flow, and Ask if Single treated a Romantic Interest as an existing relationship.Children acquired wrinkles when ageing up from toddler.Paras failed to unload from Melino after reaching a town exit point.Story card notifications were deleted by saving and reloading, and "You Have Many Plans for Tomorrow" did not grant its three random wants. The "Make 200 Paradimes" want mis-tracked sales and purchases; the "Big House 2" life goal added "Big House 3" instead.Hopscotch continued past the point where a Para had to leave for school or work.Paras received wants to level an Outdoorsiness skill that does not exist, and adults received wants to level the speech or potty skills.Computers defaulted to displaying Among Us on their screens.Several clothing assets displayed incorrectly, a curtain set was mis-scaled, and some strings were broken or untranslated.6767Fixed in Hotfix 0.1.6b (July 17, 2026)6969Every Para in a household slept stacked in the same space in bed.7171The same hotfix added a group variation of each recipe, which is a content addition rather than a fix.7373Fixed in Patch 0.1.8 (August 24, 2026)7575Patch 0.1.8, released August 24, 2026, closed a short list of issues while the studio shifted its focus to optimization. The Para info tab was not displaying information about other Paras properly. Turning on a television or radio had stopped working over the preceding few patches, and the interaction now opens the device to a random channel or station. Children sitting on couches were using the wrong animations. A regression introduced in Patch 0.1.7, where a household failed to vacate its home after all of its Paras had died, was resolved. Certain manipulations could make time advance while the Paramaker was open, which in extreme cases aged a Para to death mid-creation. Visual corrections covered mirrors that drifted out of position, faulty roof tiles, and shops losing their promotional materials. The patch also optimized Parafolk animation loading, newspaper generation, and the fade-out of buildings that block the camera, all aimed at reducing lag spikes and stutters.7777Fixed in Hotfix 0.1.8b (August 28, 2026)8080A single-fix hotfix on August 28, 2026 fixed a bug that prevented players from creating new mods with FBX mesh files. FBX is the toolkit’s format for 3D models and animations, so the bug blocked the standard mesh workflow for mod authors. See Modding and Steam Workshop.8282Current Known Issues (as of Hotfix 0.1.8b)8484Patch 0.1.7 (August 10, 2026) flagged two open problems: mods may break across Early Access updates, and NPC Paras often walk through walls when finishing a conversation. Hotfix 0.1.7b fixed a softlock affecting Paras holding a baby, and Hotfix 0.1.7c fixed a Para getting stuck when stairs were cancelled during a crib interaction. Patch 0.1.8 (August 24, 2026) flagged no new issues of its own, and the studio said it is still working to establish reliable reproduction steps for a number of ongoing reports. Hotfix 0.1.8b on August 28, 2026 flagged none either. No further patch or hotfix had shipped as of September 7, 2026.85+Patch 0.1.7 (August 10, 2026) flagged two open problems: mods may break across Early Access updates, and NPC Paras often walk through walls when finishing a conversation. No further patch or hotfix had shipped as of September 21, 2026.8686Time inconsistencies: the studio confirmed alongside Patch 0.1.6 that in-game time gradually slows down after roughly 70 in-game days. This was fixed in Patch 0.1.7 on August 10, 2026, and time speed no longer degrades past that point. The old workaround of adjusting time per minute in the Storyteller settings is no longer needed.8888The studio's open list after 0.1.3 is shorter but still tracks two main areas. Corrupted save files remain a rare problem: in some cases a save can become unloadable and the player is stuck on the loading screen. Workarounds are to back up saves regularly by duplicating them in the Load Game menu, to save households and lots to the library, and to follow the studio's self-help save-repair guide, which can fix some affected files. Crashes and freezes are still being optimized; the studio advises confirming the machine meets the minimum System Requirements. As of Patch 0.1.4, the studio's open list still notes that save files can become corrupted in rare cases (the multiple-autosave system in development is the planned safeguard) and that occasional screen-flash glitches can occur, with a photosensitivity caution.9090In addition to the save-file concerns above, Patch 0.1.5 introduced a short list of newly-tracked issues the studio is investigating: some Paras become jealous when kissing their own partner, some players cannot create new swatches for clothes and assets, canvases can disappear when a painting is started or completed, and some external mods or plugins can make all mods invisible both in the menus and in game. The save-system overhaul in 0.1.5 also reduces the impact of the corrupted-save problem, since the autosave now retains the three most recent versions of each save and Steam Cloud provides an off-machine backup.9292Stabilization Window9494The studio has framed June through September 2026 as a stabilization window focused on performance fixes, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements, with no new systems in that period. New content is expected to begin arriving with a major update in the fourth quarter of 2026. For the broader update plan, see Roadmap and Planned Features. In a June 11, 2026 known-issues update, the studio said it was tracking additional problems and that its next patch would arrive the following week.9696Reporting Bugs9898The studio collects bug reports through its official channels and the in-game feedback options. Reports from the launch audience drove the rapid Day-0 patch and the published known-issues list, and the team has committed to ongoing fixes throughout Early Access.
