Item Extraction (추출) breaks an item down into materials in AION 2. Most equipment can be extracted for a small Kina fee, and the main return is Enhancement Stones, with a chance of unlocking the item's appearance for the wardrobe. It is the standard way to turn surplus drops into upgrade material for enhancement. The rules below come from the official guidebook, the Korean service's patch notes and NCsoft's probability page, checked on October 7, 2026.

How It Works

• The extraction screen opens from the bottom right of the inventory (cube) window. Select items, review the materials you will receive and the Kina cost, and confirm.

• Extracting an enhanced item returns the Enhancement Stones its enhancement steps used: the guidebook says the return equals the sum of the stones each enhancement step needs.

• Appearances: extraction has a set chance to unlock the item's look in the wardrobe. The January 21, 2026 notes list extracting Expedition gear as a source of the new appearances, and an unlocked appearance is kept even if the item is later recovered.

• Since November 26, 2025, only the character that Soul-Inscribed a piece of gear can extract it.

• Since January 21, 2026, extraction works even when the inventory is full.

• Abyss equipment also returns Abyss Points when extracted; the probability page lists these returns item by item.

Example Returns

NCsoft's probability page lists the exact return for every item and enhancement step. For the Hero-grade Eungryong Dragon Lord Greatsword (응룡왕의 대검; provisional English name), every result is guaranteed and made of two bundles of Enhancement Stones:

Automatic and Quick Extraction

• Auto-Extraction (March 25, 2026) extracts equipment as soon as it is looted from drops, Odyle Energy Cubes and monster cubes such as Shugo Festa and dimensional invasion rewards. It is switched on under Inventory, Extract, Settings, and stops when the character runs out of Kina for the fee.

• An option keeps gear that an unfinished Supply Request still needs out of auto-extraction, and since April 22, 2026 the quick-select settings can also exclude Supply Request gear and gear used as a crafting material.

• Quick select (bulk extraction) lets a right-click in the inventory add an item to the extraction list directly.

Recovering an Extracted Item

Since June 10, 2026 the item recovery service also covers items extracted by mistake. Each character can recover one extracted item per year, only items of Unique grade or higher appear in the list, the Enhancement Stones and Abyss Points the extraction paid out are taken back, and the Kina fee is refunded as bound Kina. The same service recovers items sold to an NPC shop within the last three days (added May 27, 2026) and items consumed by Soul Inscription rerolls, and recovery counts reset every January 1.

Arcana and Other Items

Arcana can be extracted as well; since May 13, 2026, extracting the Punishment, Guardian and Indomitable set Arcana yields Noble Crystals, and the item source window has listed Arcana extraction since July 15, 2026. See Arcana.
