Diff - gathering - AION 2 Wiki

11 Gathering in AION 2 is called essence extraction (정기추출; a provisional English rendering, since no official English name for the system has been published). It is how characters harvest the ore, wood, gems, herbs, cooking ingredients and Odyle that grow across the regions, and those materials feed Crafting. This page follows NCsoft's official Korean guidebook (gathering page updated January 28, 2026) and the Korean service's update notes; the global client data (build dated September 16, 2026) lists 61 gatherable resources, so the system is part of the global build as well.

33 How Extraction Works

56 Essence extraction opens at character level 45. The requirement moved to 45 on January 28, 2026; proficiency, skill points and skills a character had already earned below 45 became usable at 45.Walk up to a gatherable and interact (F on PC). The attempt fills a success gauge and a failure gauge; reaching 100% on the success gauge first means the extraction worked, while a full failure gauge first means it failed.Every attempt, successful or not, lowers the gatherable's durability, which is its number of remaining attempts. At zero the gatherable disappears. Each spawn point remembers how many times a character has gathered from it. Gathering one spot too many times locks that character out of it for a while (December 24, 2025), and cancelling extraction repeatedly blocks gathering for a short time (July 15, 2026).

78 Extraction Level and Skills

910 Repeated extraction raises the extraction level, and each level grants skill points spent on extraction skills. Skill levels raise gathering speed and success rate, and every learned skill is passive and always active. Resetting the skills refunds every point. A character starts at the Novice grade (입문) and, on reaching Novice level 50, can take a promotion quest to the Expert grade (전문); grade names are provisional renderings. The promotion quest's recommended level was set to 45 on January 28, 2026, and since February 11, 2026 the promotion item can be gathered after talking to the quest NPC.

1416 What You Can Gather

1517

1618 Most raw materials come in four qualities: base, Fine, Pure and Radiant. In the global client data the ore, wood, gem and Odyle gatherables list all four qualities, herbs list a base and a Fresh version, and cooking ingredients a single quality; the Appraiser skills can raise the quality of a find. The Odyle that appears after Expedition bosses is a separate source covered below. Names are the global client's.

1921 Odyle After Expedition Bosses

2022

2123 Killing an Expedition boss leaves Odyle to extract. On December 3, 2025 the amount each character could extract from it was cut from 3 to 1.Since July 1, 2026, when parties grew to five players, the Odyle after an Expedition Conquest (Normal or Hard) boss is sized for five, 15 in total.Since February 11, 2026 bosses in Cradle of Nihility and Dying Dramata's Nest leave Splendent Odyle (빛나는 오드; provisional English), which gives Fine, Pure and Radiant Odyle at higher rates than ordinary Odyle.

2426

2527 Since February 25, 2026 Material Conversion can turn higher-quality Odyle and gatherables into lower-quality ones, and since April 8, 2026 gathered materials produced by conversion are bound. The Hidden Cube has offered a Radiant gathering material selection pack since July 1, 2026.
