Added detailed mechanics for both forms, Hard changes, the Draupnir entrance move, fixes by date and the global server name
Bakarma is a boss who appears in two Expedition dungeons in AION 2, each time in a different form. The Korean name is 바카르마. Bakarma is also the name of an Elyos server on the Korean service, and of an Elyos launch server in the global Europe region, where NCsoft paired it with the Asmodian server Kromede.
Form | Korean name | Dungeon | Added (KR/TW) |
|---|---|---|---|
Transcendent Bakarma | 초월한 바카르마 | Launch, November 2025 | |
Afflicted Bakarma | 고뇌하는 바카르마 | February 11, 2026 |
Transcendent Bakarma is the final boss of Draupnir and one of the four Expedition bosses on NCsoft's English global teaser site. Strategy write-ups single him out as the hardest part of the dungeon on Hard.
His defining phases come twice, by player accounts at roughly two thirds and one third of his health. The screen darkens, he teleports the party into a separate area, and rhythmic waves pulse out from the centre; players jump each ring a beat early on the way to the safe zone. The party then has to fill his stagger bar before his attack lands or the group wipes, so strong stagger skills are held back for this moment. In the second phase black whirlwinds block the approach. Between phases he leaps high and dives back down, sending out another wave on landing, and leaves red whirlpools on the floor. On December 3, 2025 the Korean service lowered the stagger needed to interrupt his Wave of Death.
On Hard the whirlwinds already appear before the first phase, and the second phase adds faster rings and projectiles. Since March 4, 2026 Draupnir's Exploration mode guarantees Bakarma's armour (바카르마의 방어구; provisional English rendering) instead of the earlier Transcendent armour, and since March 11, 2026 the dungeon is entered from Verteron or Altgard rather than from the Abyss.
NCsoft describes Afflicted Bakarma as a boss that fell into a dimensional rift and was empowered by immense energy, yet remains consumed by rage and trapped within his altered form. He is the final boss of Cradle of Nihility, the second Expedition of Season 2, added on February 11, 2026.
Write-ups advise staying close to the tank. He moves to the centre and opens safe segments that rotate in the direction his flying blades spin, four times in a row, so the party follows the turning gap. He roots his top-threat player inside a damage circle, which the others leave and then re-enter, and in another pattern the safe area travels with a marked player who has to move carefully. A straight line attack is shared by everyone standing in it, and a red field with arrows at half health makes the party spread out. On Hard a Collapsed Cradle attack leaves the area next to him as the only safe place.
