The PC install requires SSD storage. HDD installs are unsupported. Cross-platform parity for the Glacier engine pipeline is documented in the PC System Requirements article.
A day-1 patch is mandatory on every platform. Physical disc owners on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S need to download the patch on first boot before offline play is enabled. Once the patch has installed, the game can be played fully offline; no permanent internet connection is required after the one-time patch fetch.
Some level data on the physical disc only initialises after the day-1 patch is installed, so even players who start during the early-access window with a Standard digital pre-order should leave the day-1 download to complete before starting the campaign.
The press review embargo is expected to lift close to the public launch on May 27, with most outlets receiving their final code only a few working days before launch. Early opinions during the embargo period have been written from the three-hour press preview rather than from the full retail build.
Any pre-order (digital or physical) of any edition includes the Pre-Order Deluxe Upgrade content pack, covering four bonus outfits, a weapon skin, and the Gleaming Pack of gadget skins.
