Mammoth
September 11, 2026 at 10:25 PM
Initial version (2026-09-11)
The Mammoth is the Legion of Truth heavy beast, a Tier 2 unit with 1,000 health and Heavy armour produced at the Beastiary for 175 hexite and 100 flux. It walks over allied infantry, rams for 90 damage a swing with +150% against buildings, and stomps whatever ends up underneath it. The reason it is the clearest single expression of the faction is that what a Mammoth does depends on which Legion infantry unit climbs onto it.
Figures below describe the September 2026 Early Access build, the one carrying the identifier ZS.c36778, and they move with the weekly patch cadence. Roughly half the versus roster had a stat touched in the fortnight before that build was captured, so treat every number here as dated rather than permanent.

Health | 1,000 |

The energy row is a real gap. The Storm spell costs 30 energy and the record publishes no energy maximum, no starting value and no regeneration rate for the Mammoth, so there is no way to say how often the beast can cast it. That field is missing from the source.
Weapon | Damage | DPS | Range | Cooldown | Targets | Bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Unstoppable Ram | 90 | 45 | 2.5 | 2s | Ground | +150% against buildings, for 225 a swing |
Ability | Type | Cost | Cooldown | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Storm | Spell | 30 energy | Not published | Casts a storm at a target location dealing 20 damage a second for five seconds, 100 total. Requires a Dark Disciple rider. |
Stomp | Passive | None | 1 second | Deals damage to units directly underneath the Mammoth. See the Notes below: the record and the studio disagree on the figure. |
Mounting is the mechanic the unit is built around. A single Legion infantry unit rides the beast and changes what it does:
Rider | Effect |
|---|---|
+125 movement speed | |
+3 armour, the only rider bonus that touches armour | |
Trample damage to nearby enemies while moving, the Storm spell, and the movement speed bonus | |
Trample damage to nearby enemies while moving, and the movement speed bonus |
The movement speed figures here are where the entity record and the studio disagree, and the conflict is recorded in the Notes rather than resolved silently in the table.
Upgrade | Tier | Cost | Effect | Researched at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Ironhide Accord | 1 | 100 flux, 50 seconds | Doubles all troop bonuses | Citadel |
One upgrade, and it is the one that matters: doubling all troop bonuses turns a Steelsworn rider into +6 armour and doubles whichever speed figure is current. At 100 flux it is cheap for what it does to a 6 supply unit.
Reanimate is the Legion conversion mechanic, paid out of the same top bar power pool as the Grell Infuse and the Xol Replicate. While the unit lives it attacks and moves 30% faster. When it dies it gets back up, 30% slower than the original, and keeps fighting.
The Mammoth is eligible for all three conversions at an identical 15 power each. A reanimated Mammoth is 1,000 health of Heavy armour that has to be killed twice, at a movement penalty on a unit already moving at 400.
The Mammoth is a siege and line breaking unit rather than a duelist. The +150% bonus against buildings takes 90 damage to 225 a swing, and at 45 damage a second base it is the highest single target damage figure in the Legion Tier 2 roster. Walking over allied infantry means it never gets stuck behind its own Thralls, which for a faction that fields infantry in batches of three is a genuine mobility advantage.
The limitations are range and domain. Range 2.5 is close to contact, the beast cannot attack air at all, and 400 move speed is the joint slowest in the faction alongside the Terror Tank. A Mammoth that is kited does nothing.
The Mammoth shares the Beastiary with the Exalted and is unlocked by the Terror Tower rather than by the structure that builds it. It does not carry the data tag that marks Legion thrall bodies, so it cannot be sacrificed at a Ritual Site.
Its relationship with the infantry roster is the faction identity in one unit. The Legion of Truth pairs customizable heavy units with swarms of cheap troops, and the Mammoth is where those two halves meet directly: the swarm is not just an escort, it is the configuration.
Heavy armour with an armour value of 1 is the standard Legion heavy stat line, shared with the Terror Tank and the Dreadnought. Armor is also a number held separately from the type. It subtracts flat damage from every hit with a floor of 1 damage, so it blunts fast weak attacks far more than single heavy ones. One point is thin for a 6 supply unit, and a Steelsworn rider raising it to 4, or 7 with Ironhide Accord, is the intended fix.
Heavy is also the armour type the Dark Disciple keys its +75% bonus off, so a Legion mirror puts the faction longest ranged infantry unit directly against its own beast.
Target | Why |
|---|---|
Buildings | +150% takes 90 damage to 225 a swing, the highest siege figure in the faction. |
Ground line units | 45 damage a second sustained, plus the stomp on anything underneath. |
Its own army | Walking over allied infantry means it reaches the front without pushing through a Thrall batch. |
Threat | Why |
|---|---|
Air units | Unstoppable Ram targets ground only. A Mammoth cannot answer a flier at all. |
Bonuses against Heavy armour | A Dark Disciple deals +75% into it and a Terror Tank +50%. |
Kiting | Range 2.5 and 400 move speed, which the rider speed bonus exists to patch. |
Date | Change |
|---|---|
August 28, 2026 | The Mammoth can now push through smaller units. A beast tag was added to the Mammoth, the Exalted and four mercenary units. |
September 1, 2026 | Stomp damage a second reduced from 60 to 45. Line damage on a unit kill removed. The mounted movement speed bonus from a Dark Disciple or Storm Bringer rider reduced from 125 to 50. Stomp no longer works while the Mammoth is hidden. |
The roster record for this unit is COMPLETE, but it conflicts with the studio in three places, and where the two disagree the studio patch note is the authority.
Field | What the entity record publishes | What the studio published on September 1, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
Damage on a kill | Deals 50 damage in a line upon killing a unit | Line damage on unit kill removed |
Stomp damage a second | Trample listed at 60 a second while moving, with the Stomp passive at 30 damage on a 1 second cooldown | Stomp damage a second reduced from 60 to 45 |
Mounted movement speed | +125 from a Thrall, and the same bonus granted by a Dark Disciple or Storm Bringer rider | Dark Disciple and Storm Bringer mounted movement speed bonus reduced from 125 to 50. The Thrall line was not named in the note |
Read that table as a lag in the catalogue rather than as two versions of the game. The entity export for this build still carries pre hotfix text in the unit description field.
The beast tag added on August 28, 2026 is likewise named in the studio post but absent from the tag list the record publishes.
Per unit numbers are drawn from a community maintained entity catalogue that the studio links from each of its own faction pages. It is the only place the full stat block is published, and it is not a studio document, so the figures are best read as careful community documentation of a build rather than as an official specification. Dated balance notes, by contrast, come straight from the studio patch posts.
