Gravitron
September 11, 2026 at 10:23 PM
Initial version (2026-09-11)
The Gravitron is the Xol siege and control unit, a Tier 3 body merged from three Rollers with a further 125 hexite and 100 flux on top, and one of the four units the official faction page names in its sample roster. It carries 200 health behind a 200 point shield, fires a weak rapid pulse at ground targets, and exists for one ability: Reverberate lands the Gravitron, slows the attack and movement speed of everything nearby, and expands its own attack range and the slow field together in four steps.
Figures below describe the September 2026 Early Access build, the one carrying the identifier ZS.c36778, and they move with the weekly patch cadence. Roughly half the versus roster had a stat touched in the fortnight before that build was captured, so treat every number here as dated rather than permanent.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Cost | 125 hexite and 100 flux, on top of the three Rollers consumed by the merge |
Health | 200 |
Shields | 200 |
Armor | 0 |
Armor type | Medium |
Status resist | None listed in the entity record |
Move speed | 400 |
Vision | 16 |
Supply | 3 |
Build time | 24 seconds |
Tier | 3 |
Domain | Ground unit |
Infuse cost | 12.5 |
Reanimate cost | 12.5 |
Replicate cost | 12.5 |
Merged from | 3 Rollers |
Unlocked by | World Forge |
Weapon | Mode | Damage | DPS | Range | Cooldown | Targets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Collapsing Pulse | Mobile | 6 | 10 | 7.5 | 0.6s | Ground |
Collapsing Pulse (Landed) | Landed | 6 | 10 | 13 | 0.6s | Ground |
The two entries are the same weapon at two ranges. Landing nearly doubles the reach without changing the damage, which is why the Gravitron is read as a range unit rather than a damage one.
Ability | Type | Cooldown | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
Reverberate | Siege mode toggle | 0.5s | Lands the Gravitron. Nearby enemies have their attack and movement speed slowed. The slow radius and the attack range expand together in four steps of 1.25, from 8 out to 13 range. |
No Gravitron specific upgrades exist and the Gravitron has no molten mode. It unlocks at the World Forge, which is where the army wide upgrades are researched.
Source | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|
World Forge Vitals | 200 flux, 60 seconds | +10% health and shields per rank, doubled near the Forge. Unusually strong here because the Gravitron splits its durability across both |
World Forge, five others | 200 flux each, 400 flux for Casting Range, 60 seconds | Armor, Damage, Weapon Range, Cooldown Reduction and Casting Range, each to 2 ranks. A player picks 3 upgrades in total |
Replicate is the Xol conversion mechanic, paid out of the same top bar power pool as the Grell Infuse and the Legion Reanimate. Rather than buffing a unit it copies one, producing a second body from an eligible ally. Since the balance pass of August 11, 2026 it also works on molten units, at twice the usual power cost. Eligibility is not universal, and the tags on a unit record are what say which of the three conversions apply. The Gravitron is eligible for all three at an identical 12.5 power each.
Six damage on a 0.6 second cycle is ten damage a second, which for a Tier 3 unit costing three Rollers plus 125 hexite and 100 flux is negligible. The Gravitron is not bought for damage. It is bought to make an enemy army slower to move and slower to shoot inside a large radius, and to do that from further away than most things can reply.
The expansion mechanic is the part worth learning. Reverberate does not simply switch on a fixed field: the record states the slow radius and the attack range grow together in four steps of 1.25, so a Gravitron that has been landed for a while covers meaningfully more ground than one that just landed. That rewards committing early and holding position, and it punishes a player who lands and immediately lifts. The 0.5 second cooldown on the toggle means the switch itself is nearly free; the cost is the four steps of ramp that reset.
Armour is a number as well as a type. It subtracts a flat amount from every incoming hit with a floor of 1 damage, so it blunts many small hits far more than one large one. The Gravitron carries an armour value of 0, so the flat reduction does nothing, and its 400 effective points split across health and shields on a Medium armour body make it soft for the tier. It is a unit that has to be placed behind something.
The World Forge unlocks both the Gravitron and the Eradicator, and opens Tier 3 mercenary hiring. Because the Gravitron consumes three Rollers it competes with the Echo and with the Havoc for the same banked bodies, and the free 20 second Unmerge introduced on August 11, 2026 means a landed Gravitron can be returned to three Rollers when a fight turns. See Units for the shared stat block and Resources and Economy for the power pool.
Strong against | Why |
|---|---|
Melee and short range armies | A movement slow across a large radius stops anything that has to make contact. |
Sustained ranged fire | The attack speed slow reduces the output of everything in the field, not just one target. |
Held ground | The four step expansion rewards a Gravitron that lands early and stays landed. |
Weak to | Why |
|---|---|
Air units | Both weapon entries target ground only. |
Focused burst | 200 health and a 200 point shield with no armour value is thin for a Tier 3 unit at 3 supply. |
Being forced to reposition | Lifting resets the four step expansion, and move speed 400 makes any retreat slow. |
Date | Change |
|---|---|
August 11, 2026 | Move speed increased from 300 to 400. |
August 11, 2026 | Aura maximum radius increased from 13.5 to 15, per the studio patch note. See the Notes below, because the build data records a smaller figure. |
The roster record for this unit is COMPLETE. Every core field is published.
Three numbers disagree about how far Reverberate reaches, and the disagreement is worth stating rather than smoothing over. The studio patch note of August 11, 2026 records the aura maximum radius rising from 13.5 to 15. The entity record for the ability gives an effect radius of 1300, which is 13 in display units, and its own prose says the field expands in four steps of 1.25 from 8 out to 13. The landed weapon entry independently gives range 13, which matches the prose. The studio note is the authoritative record and is the later word on intent, so the true maximum is probably 15; the build data has not been updated to match, or the two are measuring different things. This page reports the build figures in the tables and flags the studio number here.
A smaller internal inconsistency sits alongside it. The mobile mode description says the Gravitron attacks at 8 range, while the mobile weapon entry gives range 7.5. Four steps of 1.25 added to 8 reaches 13, which is why the prose uses 8, but the weapon data does not agree with it.
Per unit numbers are drawn from a community maintained entity catalogue that the studio links from each of its own faction pages. It is the only place the full stat block is published, and it is not a studio document, so the figures are best read as careful community documentation of a build rather than as an official specification. Dated balance notes, by contrast, come straight from the studio patch posts.
