Arandi Chronowarper

Removed repeated body wikilinks, keeping the first occurrence of each target
The Chronowarper is the Arandi Empire flier, a Tier 3 unit produced from the Penumbra and hired into a main faction army rather than played on its own. It is an area control unit first and a damage dealer second. Phase is a siege mode, meaning the Chronowarper settles into it rather than casting it, and while it holds that mode every enemy unit in the area attacks and moves 30 percent more slowly.
Figures below describe the September 2026 Early Access build, the one carrying the identifier ZS.c36778, and they move with the weekly patch cadence. Roughly half the versus roster had a stat touched in the fortnight before that build was captured, so treat every number here as dated rather than permanent.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Cost | 75 hexite and 175 flux |
Health | 350 |
Shields | 0 |
Armor | 0 |
Armor type | Medium |

Infuse cost | 14.6875 |
Reanimate cost | 14.6875 |
Replicate cost | 14.6875 |

Weapon | Damage | DPS | Range | Cooldown | Targets | Bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Temporal Beam | 15 | 21 | 12 | 0.7s | Ground and air | None published. |
Ability | Type | Effect | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|
Phase | Siege mode | Slows the attack speed and movement speed of enemy units in an area by 30 percent. | 1s |
A one second cooldown on a siege mode is effectively no cooldown at all. The cost of Phase is not the timer, it is that a Chronowarper holding the mode is committed to a position, which is a real constraint on a unit that also has no armour value.
No upgrades are published for the Chronowarper in this build.
The Chronowarper is eligible for Infuse, Reanimate and Replicate at 14.6875 power each, paid from the top bar pool described on Resources and Economy. This is the most expensive conversion in the Arandi roster apart from the Judgement, which follows from the Chronowarper being a 350 health flier at six supply.
Twenty one damage per second on a 0.7 second cycle, hitting both ground and air, is respectable but not what six supply buys. Phase is what six supply buys. A 30 percent cut to enemy attack speed applied across a group is a large amount of damage removed from the other side, and it stacks with everything else the army is doing rather than competing with it. Because the slow covers movement as well, it also holds a retreating enemy in place and blunts a charge.
Being a flier is the other half of the unit. The Chronowarper reaches positions that ground units cannot and is immune to anything that can only shoot along the ground, which matters when the point of the unit is to sit over a fight rather than in it. The cost of that is exposure to dedicated anti air, and at 350 health with a zero armour value the Chronowarper does not survive much of it.
Medium armour with an armour value of zero means every hit lands in full. Armour in this game is two separate things. The armour type is a category that enemy weapon bonuses key off. The armour value is a flat number subtracted from every incoming hit, with a floor of one damage per attack, so it blunts a stream of weak hits far more than a single heavy one.
Target | Why |
|---|---|
Massed armies | Phase applies its 30 percent slow across an area, so its value scales with how many enemy units are standing in it. |
Fast attack cycles | Cutting attack speed by 30 percent removes proportionally more damage from a weapon that fires often. |
Ground only armies | A flier that a ground only force cannot answer can hold Phase indefinitely. |
Threat | Why |
|---|---|
Dedicated anti air | 350 health with no armour value and no escape ability. |
Weapons with a Medium armour bonus | Medium is a widely targeted armour type since the August 11, 2026 rework folded the old harvester type into it. |
Being forced to move | A Chronowarper that has to leave Phase to survive contributes only its 21 damage per second. |
August 19, 2026: included in the animation optimisation pass. No stat effect.
August 28, 2026: cost changed from 50 hexite and 200 flux to 75 hexite and 175 flux. The conversion costs moved from 15 to 14.6875 as a consequence.
Between late August and September 2026 the published description lost its line about teleporting friendly units to the Chronowarper position, and no such ability is published in this build.
The roster record for this unit is COMPLETE.
The Arandi Empire overview on this wiki describes a Chronowarper that teleports friendly units to its location. That described an earlier build. In build ZS.c36778 the unit publishes one attack and one siege mode, and no teleport. The group does still have a teleport, but it is the Penumbra Recall top bar ability rather than anything the Chronowarper does.
The engine name for this unit is a ball rather than a chronowarper, and a pre release video used the name Time Warper for it. They are the same unit.
Phase is a siege mode, which is a distinct ability category from a spell. The unit carries the sieges tag for that reason.
Per unit numbers are drawn from a community maintained entity catalogue that the studio links from each of its own faction pages. It is the only place the full stat block is published, and it is not a studio document, so the figures are best read as careful community documentation of a build rather than as an official specification. Dated balance notes, by contrast, come straight from the studio patch posts.
