Stack of Books sits in the Books decoration line and is one of the cheapest comfort pieces in the game, asking only for a little Wood and a one second build.

How to Obtain

Stack of Books is crafted from the building menu once you learn the Decoration: Books and Scrolls plan. The recipe uses only Wood, so it is trivial to produce in bulk while you save better materials for the larger book sets and furniture.

Like every furnishing in this group, the piece only feeds your settlement score when it sits inside the radius of a Bonfire. Set it down outside that range and it still works as scenery, but it adds nothing to the Comfort System total. Inside the radius it grants +1 Comfort toward the Books category.

That bonus does not stack with other items of the same category, so one Books piece already supplies the full category contribution. You raise the overall comfort tier by mixing different decoration categories around a single bonfire rather than crowding the room with copies of one model. In practice this makes the build a cheap, fast way to tick the Books box while you save scarcer materials for gear and ships.
