Rapier of Devastation

Initial article documenting the Rapier of Devastation, B-tier rapier with healing-on-crit.
The Rapier of Devastation is a B-tier rapier in Windrose with focused single-target damage and self-healing on critical hits. It deals Pierce damage with Precision scaling, like other rapiers, but adds a unique perk: each critical hit restores a small amount of the user's HP. This makes the Rapier of Devastation an excellent solo-play weapon for sustained dueling against bosses and high-HP enemies, where the heal-on-crit compounds over the fight duration.
Every critical hit landed with the Rapier of Devastation restores a small amount of the user's HP. The exact percentage continues to be community-documented (sources report 5-10% HP per crit), but the mechanic compounds powerfully when paired with crit-focused talent investments and armor. A Privateer's Regalia 4-piece (+10% Crit Damage per nearby enemy, max 30%) plus Mastery investment plus Surgical Cuts talent (+3-9% one-handed crit chance) can produce 30-40% crit rates, meaning roughly 1 in 3 hits self-heals.
Talents: Fencer branch (Deep Cuts, Surgical Cuts +3-9% one-handed crit chance, Perfect Counter +5-12% crit after blocking)
Armor: Privateer's Regalia (+10% Crit Hit Chance, +10% Crit Damage per nearby enemy); Tracker's Leathers (+35% healing effectiveness amplifies the heal-on-crit)
Attributes: Precision (primary), Mastery (for crit chance), Vitality (for HP pool that benefits from heal-on-crit)
Food buffs: Precision +20 (Swamp Pie); Mastery foods for additional crit
Cursed Swamps boss drops (Swamp Creature has a chance, High Priestess has a chance)
Late-game faction Provisioner inventory at Rank 2-3 reputation (Buccaneers or Smugglers)
Buried treasure rewards from Blackbeard's Treasure Maps (rare drop)
Crafted at the Weaponsmith Workshop using a Plan recovered from late-game content
Use against single high-HP targets (bosses, mini-bosses) where the heal-on-crit compounds over the long fight
Stack Mastery and Privateer's Regalia for maximum crit rate; higher crits mean more frequent heals
Pair with Tracker's Leathers 2-piece for amplified heal-on-crit values
Less effective against grouped enemies where you cannot sustain critical hits on a single target
