Although the item card lists no guaranteed loot drop, the community-verified acquisition path runs through a Traveler's Camp treasure chain in the Coastal Jungle. The chain starts at the first Traveler's Camp the player encounters in the region, which is identified by a red cloth tied to a nearby tree.
Step-by-step route: enter the Traveler's Camp and loot the chest next to the tent. Inside the chest is a clue note titled A Hat Worth Boarding For, which points the player to a buried treasure location. Leave the camp and head north until the tree with the red cloth is directly visible. Equip a Shovel and dig on the northwest side of that tree. A buried chest surfaces after several digs; opening it returns the Rapier of a Thousand Cuts along with incidental loot.
If the weapon does not appear: the buried chest drop table is not guaranteed on every run, so a single empty chest does not mean the wrong location was searched. Keep farming Traveler's Camp buried treasure routes around the Coastal Jungle, and extend the search into pirate camps in Blackbeard Waters. The weapon has multiple low-rate chest table entries across the region, so repeated treasure runs eventually surface it even if the first red-cloth site does not deliver.
Build context: the rapier scales with Precision, so it slots naturally into any build already running pistols or muskets. Because its Bleeding effect stacks up to five times and each stack deals 25 damage per second, the weapon's DPS climbs sharply in longer fights. Short repeated attack strings that keep pressure up without emptying the stamina bar outperform heavy committed swings on this weapon.
