Plans: Straw Roofs and Triangular Walls is a recipe paper in Windrose. Learning it completes the roofing layer of the rustic build style: straw roof panels, corners, ridges, gables, and pediments, along with the triangular gable-end walls in plank and stone that close a pitched roof. It also adds straw canopies and a chimney cap for finishing touches.
This plan belongs to the Old World building set. Like every recipe paper, it is a schematic: you learn it once at your base, after which the pieces it teaches become available in the build menu. The paper itself is sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner, whose schematic stock unlocks as your reputation with that faction rises. Reputation is earned by handing the faction's Bounty Agent the insignias and letters of favor that drop from fallen pirates.
Building Piece | Bit Cost |
|---|---|
Straw Roof 26° | 2 bits |
Straw Roof Corner 26° | 2 bits |
Straw Roof Ridges 26° | 2 bits |
Triangular Straw Roof 45° | 2 bits |
Straw Roof Pediments | 4 bits |
Roof Chimney Cap | 1 bit |
Triangular Plank Walls 26° | 2 bits |
Triangular Plank Walls 64° | 2 bits |
Triangular Stone Walls 64° | 2 bits |
Straw Canopies | 2 bits |
Bit costs shown are the build resource each piece consumes when you place it. Bits are the shared construction currency spent through the Base Building menu, so stocking up before a large project keeps construction from stalling. See Building Pieces for the full catalogue of placeable parts.

The 26° panels make a shallow pitch and the 45° triangular roof a steeper one, so pick the angle before you start a roofline and stay consistent. Cap exposed ends with the matching gable-end walls, in planks or stone, and tidy the apex with ridges and pediments. The chimney cap and straw canopies are decorative finishers rather than structural pieces. Every item in this set costs 4 bits or fewer, so a complete roof is inexpensive to build out once the frame from the timber set is in place.
