Location
Marita is found inside the Smugglers of Port Royal Main Base, which is hidden within a cave on an island reached by green-striped waters on the map. The cave is concealed: there are no NPCs or structures outside. Dock at the island and circle the perimeter to find the cave entrance. Inside, the faction Buyer NPC stands beside her.
Role
Talking to Marita is the second objective of the Underground Network quest. Completing her step spawns and unlocks the Smugglers of Port Royal Buyer who stands next to her and accepts treasure-class items and Contraband for high Piastres payouts.
Why She Matters
Unlocks the Smugglers of Port Royal Buyer for treasure and contraband hand-ins.
Unlocks a free Fast Travel Bell point inside the cave.
Opens the Smugglers faction's reputation track via later quests.
Tips
The approach sail is guarded by pirates and storms. Bring repair supplies.
Drop a Fast Travel Bell near the cave entrance to avoid the repeated sail.
Do not sell generic loot here. Marita's Buyer specializes in treasure and contraband; other items fetch better prices at Tortuga.

Smugglers Quest Role
After Underground Network closes, Marita becomes the lead investigator on the Smugglers faction quest. The chain starts when Long Ben tells the player his tavern wine has dried up; the player returns to Marita's cave base and finds her dealing with the same problem from the supplier side.
Marita reports that her own ship, The Hunchback Pilgrim, left harbour carrying Long Ben's order but never returned. She marks the ship's last position on the map and sends the player to investigate. After the player confirms the cargo was stolen rather than lost, Marita names Eddie Lowe, a Blackbeard Grenadier whose pirate camp is on the Foothills mainland, and updates the map again with the camp's coordinates.
Returning the recovered Contraband Wine closes the chain and pays out 150 Piastres, 10 Letter of Favor, and the Iron Lamps decoration plan. The 10 Letters represent the largest early-game Smugglers reputation payout from a single quest, so plan the cash-in at the Smugglers Bounty Agent on Tortuga before starting the next faction chain.
