The Large Rope Coil is a heavy bundle of cordage used to dress a harbor, one of the Pier Decorations that give a dock its working, lived-in character. It pairs naturally with the smaller Rope Coil and with the Pier Winch to make a stretch of pier look like a real loading quay rather than bare planks.
Its Max Health of 1,500 represents how much punishment the structure absorbs before it is destroyed. Decorations are not combat structures, so this mainly matters during raids or stray area damage; a destroyed piece must be rebuilt from the same materials.
It is about as simple as a decoration gets, costing just two Rope. Rope is twisted from plant fibers and is one of the most common crafted materials in the game, so coils are trivial to mass-produce when decorating a long pier.

The recipe is taught by the Decoration: Pier Decorations plan, which unlocks the full set of dockside props.
Every decoration in this category contributes to your settlement's Comfort rating, the housing score that rewards captains for building a pleasant base rather than a bare one. This piece grants a +1 bonus to the Pier category. Comfort bonuses inside a single category do not stack, so building several pieces from the same group does not multiply the bonus; each one still reports the same +1 value.
Like all furnishings, it only functions when placed inside the radius of a Bonfire. Outside that range it still stands as built but stops counting toward Comfort, so position decorations near the fire that anchors your camp. Mixing pieces from different Comfort categories is the practical way to push the overall score higher.
Scatter several coils of different sizes along a pier, alternating the Large Rope Coil with the smaller Rope Coil, for an authentic working-dock look.
Because it only needs Rope, keep a stack of cordage on hand and decorate a whole quay in one pass.
Set coils within the bonfire range so they count toward the Pier Comfort category alongside your other dockside decorations.
