Like every decoration, the lamp only counts toward your shelter while it sits inside the range of a Bonfire. Anything placed outside that radius is purely cosmetic and adds nothing to the Comfort System. Build it near your camp or base so the bonus registers.
This piece grants +1 to the Lighting comfort category. Comfort within a single category does not stack, so placing two pieces of the same category gives the same +1 as one. To raise your total comfort you mix pieces from different categories rather than stacking duplicates of the same one. Higher overall comfort is what unlocks better rest and the related shelter benefits.
The Cylindrical Lamp is an iron lamp taught by the Decoration: Iron Lamps plan. It belongs to the broader Lighting category, which also covers wall, table, standing, and hanging styles from other lamp plans. Every lighting piece gives the same Lighting comfort bonus, so picking one is about the look and where it mounts.

The lamp costs two Foothills Iron Ingot and three Animal Fat. The ingots are smelted from ore gathered in the Foothills, and animal fat is rendered from hunted wildlife, so this lamp pairs naturally with an early base that already processes both. Keep a few ingots in reserve, since they feed many other build recipes as well.
