Coffee Beans are a cooking ingredient in Windrose used in multiple food and drink recipes. They are not foraged in the wild; they enter the economy through Tortuga vendors and ship-hold loot.

How to Acquire

Coffee Beans are one of the cleanest Piastres-to-ingredient conversions in the economy, and the 3 Piastre price point is low enough that most players simply buy them in bulk when they visit Tortuga rather than grind ship holds for them.

• Dead Eye Grog. This drink layers coffee beans with rum and madeira for a +15% damage buff for 30 minutes

Coffee Beans enter the economy through three routes. The vendor path at Tortuga is the only guaranteed supply; the water-based routes are RNG and best treated as opportunistic top-ups rather than a primary source.

The Tortuga merchant that stocks Coffee Beans will not sell to a freshly arrived player. Reputation with the Brethren of the Coast has to reach trust level 3 before the shop inventory unlocks. The faction mission chain that points toward Tortuga is the fastest path there, and completing handler quests in the market district grinds the required standing without sailing detours.

Because the world map generates differently per save, the market's exact island varies. The story's Tortuga-introduction quest marks the location on the world map the first time it fires, so players who feel lost should accept and follow that quest instead of searching the sea blindly.

Bulk Buying Strategy

At 3 Piastres each, Coffee Beans are cheap enough that a single Tortuga shopping trip can stock tens of beans for the price of a modest loot run. The practical target for most players is around 30 beans: a full Dead Eye Grog batch, a Supplies Rack, and some Coffee buff reserve, all within a single vendor visit. Piastres earned from selling gathered Hardwood, Copper Ingots, and surplus fish usually cover the full stack long before inventory weight becomes an issue.
