Overview

Carpets and Rugs is decorative floor coverings. Windrose offers 7 carpet pieces from the Decoration - Carpets sub-category: woven rugs, patterned carpets, and ethnic-pattern variants.

Carpet and Rug Pieces

Placement

Rugs and carpets sit on top of Floor pieces. They do not require walls and can be placed outdoors (covered terraces work), though the visual effect is strongest in enclosed rooms. Multiple rugs can overlap without collision issues, which is useful for layering a rug on top of a larger carpet for a vignette look.

Tips

• Carpet Runners are the go-to piece for long hallways and pier walkways. They break up the monotony of plain floor tiles.

• Ethnic patterns contrast well against plain Plank or Log floors; they look washed-out on Mahogany or Marble.

• Layering: place a Patterned Carpet as the base, then a smaller Woven Rug on top for a vignette effect in front of a Bench or Luxurious Fireplace.

• Carpet with Inserts reads as higher-tier than plain Patterned Carpet and is a Building Contest favorite.
