Placement and Comfort
Like every decoration, the canopy only counts toward your shelter while it sits inside the range of a Bonfire. Anything placed outside that radius is purely cosmetic and adds nothing to the Comfort System. Build it near your camp or base so the bonus registers.
This piece grants +1 to the Canopy comfort category. Comfort within a single category does not stack, so placing two pieces of the same category gives the same +1 as one. To raise your total comfort you mix pieces from different categories rather than stacking duplicates of the same one. Higher overall comfort is what unlocks better rest and the related shelter benefits.
Related Canopies
Canopy with Netting is a wall-mounted piece in the Canopies decoration category. It is one of the cheapest canopies, built from scrap wood and coarse cloth, which makes it a good first awning before you unlock the larger shaped variants. All canopies grant the same Canopy comfort bonus.

Materials
The build cost is two Wood and two Coarse Fabric. Both are early game staples: wood is chopped from common trees and coarse fabric is the basic woven cloth, so you can craft this canopy almost as soon as you set up a camp. Being wall-mounted, it tucks against a structure to shade a doorway or window without taking up floor space.
