The Bottle Crate is a miscellaneous Decorations piece in Windrose: a wooden crate packed with bottles that once held supplies and now simply dresses a camp. It raises a sheltered camp's Comfort level by +1 for the miscellaneous subcategory. As with every comfort decoration, the bonus does not stack, so a single crate covers the whole subcategory.

The build recipe is taught by the Decoration: Crate of Bottles recipe paper. Reading that single-use paper permanently adds the crate to the Workbench menu for that character. The paper is looted from chests in pirate camps and ruins or bought from rotating Tortuga trader stock, and each member of a shared base must read their own copy.
Both ingredients are easy to gather. Wood is chopped from trees across the islands, and a Rum Bottle is the empty bottle left after drinking rum, so the crate is a tidy way to reuse spare bottles. The build itself is near-instant at the workbench.

This piece belongs to the Miscellaneous comfort subcategory. Placing at least one item from a subcategory inside the Bonfire radius grants +1 to your Comfort level for that subcategory, and adding more pieces from the same subcategory does not raise the bonus further. The bonus only counts while the decoration sits within the bonfire's circle, shown in the build menu when you place it.
Comfort feeds the Rested buff, which you gain by resting near the bonfire. Rested raises stamina regeneration to about 2.5 times its normal rate, and each extra comfort level adds roughly one minute to how long the buff lasts, so spreading points across many subcategories is more valuable than stacking duplicates of one item. Most indoor furniture needs Shelter status, meaning walls and a roof around the bonfire, before its bonus applies; mixing in several different subcategories is the fastest way to climb comfort levels.
With 3,000 Max Health, the crate is sturdy enough to leave in busy outdoor corners of a base, though it still needs to sit inside the Bonfire radius to count for comfort.
Because the miscellaneous subcategory only needs one item, pair the crate with a different subcategory piece rather than building several crates for more Comfort.
