Arboris Saber

Initial article documenting the Arboris Saber, a B-tier defensive saber with plague-channeling special attacks.
The Arboris Saber is a B-tier defensive saber in Windrose that channels plague energy for special attacks. It deals standard Slash damage with Agility scaling, but its unique F-attack ability channels the user's current Corruption stacks (built up by landing hits on enemies) into a plague burst that damages and applies plague DoT to nearby foes. The Arboris Saber is the saber-class equivalent of the Plague Halberd, designed for players who want plague mechanics on a faster one-handed weapon.
Like the Plague Halberd, the Arboris Saber builds Corruption stacks (typically up to 5) by landing hits on enemies. At 5 stacks, the F-attack key activates a plague burst that:
Deals significant burst damage to nearby enemies in a small AoE
Applies a Plague DoT to all hit targets (compounds with other plague effects)
Resets the user's Corruption stacks to 0
The Arboris Saber's F-attack is more crowd-control focused than the Plague Halberd's heal-on-attack F-attack. Use the Halberd if you want self-healing; use the Arboris Saber if you want AoE burst against multiple Plague Witch summons or grouped enemies.
Talents: Fencer branch (Deep Cuts +3-9% slash damage, Surgical Cuts +3-9% one-handed crit, Perfect Counter +5-12% crit after blocking)
Armor: Flibustier's Attire (-20% attack stamina cost, +15% one-handed damage); Tracker's Leathers for sustain in extended Plague encounters
Attributes: Agility (primary), Mastery (for crit), some Vitality for HP cushion against Plague DoT exposure
Food buffs: Agility +20 (Hearty Egg Broth, Gazpacho)
Cursed Swamps Plague enemy drops (rare); specifically Plague Witches and Plague Warriors
Cursed Swamps Ancient Ruins chest loot
Late-game faction Provisioner inventory
Crafted at the Weaponsmith Workshop using a Plan recovered from Cursed Swamps content
Use against grouped Plague enemies; the F-attack burst hits multiple targets and applies plague DoT to all
Pair with a Plague Pistol for ranged Corruption stack building before melee engagement
Bring Pain Relief Elixir; the Arboris Saber's plague self-exposure can stack DoT on the user from extended use
Conserve F-attack uses; build to 5 stacks before triggering rather than wasting at 3-4 stacks
Arboris (Latin for "of trees") suggests a connection to the same plague-corrupted swamp trees that yield Essence Arborum. Whether the saber was forged from plague-wood, infused with Essence Arborum during crafting, or carries some other connection to the Cursed Swamps' tree-corruption is part of the unfolding lore. The fact that the saber channels Corruption rather than purely fighting it reflects the broader theme of Windrose: the player must turn the swamps' plague into their own tool.
