The Smuggler Buyer at the hidden Smugglers of Port Royal archipelago base is the primary buyer for this relic, paying 1 Guinea each. Guineas are the currency used to buy top-tier Tortuga armor plans and naval tactics, so each chalice sold feeds the endgame progression path.

Note: community data on the high-traffic chalices overview lists the Smuggler Buyer as the only buyer that accepts luxury contraband relics, so the alternative Tortuga payout above may no longer apply. When in doubt, sell to the Smuggler Buyer for the guaranteed Guinea.

Stockpile Tip

Players often find chalices before unlocking the Smuggler archipelago. They weigh nothing and stack to 5, so keep a dedicated luxury chest at base and bank them until the Smuggler Buyer opens, rather than dumping them for a lesser price.
