System Requirements

Removed an overstated minimum frame rate qualifier
WARDOGS lists official PC system requirements on its store page. Because the game launched first on PC, through early access on 10 September 2026, these figures cover the Windows build. The announced PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, which the studio has dated to 2028, do not have published specifications yet. The game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system and a broadband internet connection, since it is a multiplayer-only title.
The minimum tier targets 1080p on Low settings at 60 frames per second, with upscaling, according to the note on the listing.
Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 (64-bit) |
Processor | Intel Core i5 8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 |
Memory | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | Nvidia GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 590 |
Storage | 50 GB available space |
Network | Broadband internet connection |
Target | 1080p Low at 60 fps (upscaled) |
The recommended tier targets 1440p on Medium settings at 70 frames per second or better at native resolution, or 4K on Medium at 60 frames per second or better with upscaling.
Component | Recommended |
|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 11 |
Processor | Intel Core i7 12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X |
Memory | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | Nvidia RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT |
Storage | 50 GB available space |
Network | Broadband internet connection |
Target | 1440p Medium at 70 fps or higher (native), or 4K Medium at 60 fps or higher (upscaled) |
Both tiers ask for 16 GB of RAM and reserve the same 50 GB of storage, so neither memory nor install size separates them: the step up is the graphics card, the processor, and the move from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The published figures did not change at launch, and as of 11 September 2026 both tiers read exactly as they did on the pre-launch listing. Requirements may still change during early access as the game is optimised, and they apply to the PC version only. Both figures were re-read on 14 October 2026 and are unchanged from the launch listing. Storage in particular has moved before, from 30 GB minimum and 40 GB recommended earlier in 2026, so a lower figure quoted elsewhere is out of date rather than a different tier.
One operating system problem has been patched since launch: Update 0.1.2 on 30 September 2026 fixed WD-L020 crashes caused by the Windows 11 update KB5124010.
Beyond the two hardware tiers, the game exposes graphics options so players can tune it to their own machine, and the studio says it has continuously optimised across a wide range of hardware. Its performance breakdown walks through the extremes of those settings, labelling the low end Potato Mode and the high end Overkill Mode, and covers client performance, visual fidelity, and networking alongside them. The developers say testers consistently remark on how well the game already runs.
The store listing also declares a set of technical and platform features that sit outside the hardware tiers.
Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
Platforms | Windows only; the listing declares no macOS or Linux support |
Multiplayer | Online player-versus-player only; there is no offline or single-player mode |
Anti-cheat | Kernel-level anti-cheat, named on the listing as Elytra |
Achievements | Ten Steam achievements, added at the early access launch |
Accessibility | Four accessibility features are listed: camera comfort, custom volume controls, stereo sound, and surround sound |
Languages | Fourteen supported languages; English is the only one with full audio, and the other thirteen are interface only |
Interactive elements | In-game chat and online interactivity |
Family sharing | Listed at launch, but no longer listed as of 14 October 2026 |
Steam Deck | Rated Unsupported as of 14 October 2026, with the listing's test result stating that SteamOS does not support the game |
Controller support | Not supported; every controller and gamepad flag on the listing is switched off, re-checked on 14 October 2026 |
Two of those listed features have more behind them than a single line. The kernel-level anti-cheat and the server browser that feeds every match are covered in detail, alongside player-run servers, under Servers and Anti-Cheat.
Controller support is the one place where two first-party statements do not quite say the same thing, and both are worth having.
Source | What it says |
|---|---|
The store listing | Declares no controller support at all. Every controller flag on the listing reads false, and the declaration wizard is marked complete, so this is a positive declaration of none rather than a field left blank |
The developers | The pinned questions thread alongside the game states that controller support is limited in the current version |
The practical reading is that the game is built for keyboard and mouse, that whatever controller handling exists is partial, and that the storefront declaration has not been updated to describe it. Both statements were current on 14 October 2026. Update 0.1.2 on 30 September added gamepad support to the Deploy server selection screen, and the Season 2 preview lists controller responsiveness among the areas being improved, but the listing's declaration has not changed. Players flying aircraft have asked about joystick and throttle hardware specifically; as of 14 October 2026 the studio has published nothing on it.
The listing supports Windows alone. The studio has said it does not officially support Linux, has not committed to supporting it, and is still working on Proton compatibility, so anything that did run through a compatibility layer during testing was incidental rather than supported. The publisher separately lists the game as playable through cloud streaming on GeForce NOW.
