The Tropico 7 Demo is a free, playable preview of Tropico 7 on Steam. Its store listing gives a release date of October 19, 2026, and Kalypso Media announced it on October 20, 2026 as available during Steam Next Fest. The demo contains the first mission of the story campaign, "Little Great Britain".

According to the announcement, the demo gives players "their first opportunity to explore the first campaign mission, experience the latest entry in the series and discover whether they have what it takes to rule." The mission it contains, "Little Great Britain", is the opening chapter of the campaign. The campaign's story begins with El Presidente as a colonial governor serving the British Crown. As of October 20, 2026, Kalypso had not described the mission's objectives in detail.
The demo is the first publicly available build of the game. The earlier closed beta in spring 2026 was limited to selected players under a non-disclosure agreement (see Development History).
