Composers
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Nikola Kolodziejczyk | Lead composer. Previously composed for The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine DLC |
Piotr Musial | Additional composer. Known for Frostpunk 2 |
Mikolai Stroinski | Additional composer. Known for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |
The three composers were revealed in Community Bulletin Board #3, titled "Music in Our Blood." Having both Stroinski and Kolodziejczyk (composers who worked on different aspects of The Witcher 3's music) working on the same project again ties the soundtrack to the same lineage, though the musical direction is distinct.
Musical direction
The soundtrack is rooted in 14th-century Eastern European folk aesthetics. The goal is historical texture rather than generic orchestral fantasy scoring. The music opens with restrained, folk-influenced vocals layered over scraped violin lines, building steadily with heavy percussion toward wailing vocals and frantic string work.

Kolodziejczyk has said: "We wanted the music to be grounded, to show that we as Coen are not a superhero, but a protagonist, with real challenges." Combat music is described as dynamic and fast-paced, designed to match the game's supernatural abilities while keeping a sense of weight.
