Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN is a direct sequel that takes place in the same universe as the original Stellar Blade and continues the story beyond that game's ending. SHIFT UP has framed it as the next chapter of the series, set some time after the events players already know.
The reveal centers on Evie carrying out a mission in a rain-soaked city. She tracks a group of suspicious individuals while a partner named Canna talks her through it over comms, raising something called The Scarlet Sin. Evie is also seen holding a vial as she closes in on her targets.
The situation turns violent when one of the people she is following injects an unknown substance and mutates into a monster. Other citizens transform as well, and the scene escalates into the fast combat the game is built around.
How this thread connects to the first game's ending, who Canna is, and what The Scarlet Sin actually represents have not been explained. The game is early in development, so the wider plot remains intentionally sparse for now.
