Combat is the clearest way Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN sets itself apart from the original. The new protagonist Evie fights primarily through gauntlet-based brawling, leading with her fists and folding in kicks, rather than relying on the sword that defined Eve's combat in the first game.
The reveal trailer also shows Evie pulling out a reverse-grip blade for certain special attacks, so her kit is not purely unarmed. Defensive options are part of the mix as well: the footage includes dodges and parry counters, and Evie is shown taking hits, which suggests a reaction-heavy, back-and-forth flow rather than pure offense.
What Is Not Yet Confirmed
Because the game is in early development, the finer details have not been shared. There is no confirmed information yet on skill trees, upgrades, weapon variety, difficulty options, or how the brawling and the blade trade off against each other. What is certain is the fast, stylish tone the trailer leads with and Evie's identity as a close-range fist fighter. More of the surrounding systems should follow in later showings.
