Greasyback Shrimp is a catchable crustacean found in ocean zones in Starsand Island. It is available in all seasons, all weather conditions, and with any bait type, making it one of the most accessible ocean catches. While Greasyback Shrimp has no direct sell value (listed as N/A in the Islandpedia), its true worth comes from its role as a cooking ingredient. It appears in four different cooking recipes, more than almost any other single fish.

Greasyback Shrimp has no restrictions on season, weather, time, or bait. It can show up as a catch during any ocean fishing session, regardless of what you are targeting. This makes it easy to stockpile over time without dedicated farming.

Greasyback Shrimp is used in four cooking recipes. This makes it one of the most versatile seafood ingredients in the game.

Recipe Highlights

• Mountain and Sea Skewers is the simplest recipe, needing only 2x Sunveil Shroom alongside the shrimp. Unlock it through Explorer rank progression.

• Sauteed Grouper Fillet with Shrimp Roe gives the highest recovery (+147) but requires 10x Fish Fillet and 2x Greasyback Shrimp, making it resource-intensive.

• Braised Crab Pot also grants the Flow Fishing buff, which prevents your fishing line from breaking (no red tension state). This buff is extremely useful during King Fish hunts.

• Shrimp and Fish Porridge is a solid mid-tier healing food requiring only Fish Fillet and Rice alongside the shrimp.

Tips

• Since Greasyback Shrimp cannot be sold for gold, your only use for it is cooking. Keep a stack in your kitchen storage at all times.

• You will catch Greasyback Shrimp passively during any ocean fishing session. There is no need to farm it specifically.

• Prioritize learning the Braised Crab Pot recipe. The Flow Fishing buff it grants (fishing line will not break) is one of the most powerful fishing buffs in the game, essential for landing King Fish.

• Sauteed Grouper Fillet with Shrimp Roe requires 10x Fish Fillet per dish. Process your lower-value catches (like Clownfish at 50g) into Fish Fillet rather than selling them, and save them for this recipe.

• Mountain and Sea Skewers is the most efficient use of Greasyback Shrimp for quick healing, since Sunveil Shroom is abundant in forest areas.
