Applied Title Case to body headings
Fine Salt is one of the eight base cooking ingredients in Starsand Island, and the only one not produced at the Separator. Fine Salt is produced at the Charcoal Kiln from Salt Brick and Fiber, making the Charcoal Kiln a dual-role station for both Charcoal smelting fuel and seasoning production.

Salt Brick is a gathering material mined with a basic Pickaxe. Reliable sources:
Crystalith Chamber. Salt deposits are mined inside the Crystalith chamber in the Moonlit Forest. This is the most reliable single source.
Coastal areas. Salt Brick deposits occasionally appear along the island's coastline and near rocky beach formations.
Mining deposits. Certain mining nodes in rocky areas may yield Salt Bricks alongside other minerals.
Fine Salt appears in a large number of cooking recipes as a seasoning ingredient. Examples include:
Recipe | Other Ingredients | Station |
|---|---|---|
Lamb Skewers | 1x Mutton + 1x Fine Salt | Campfire / Gas Stove |
2x Tofu, 1x Kelp, 1x Fine Salt | Campfire / Gas Stove |
Many additional recipes call for Fine Salt as their seasoning component. Check the in-game recipe book at Aurelis's Aureleaf Kitchen for the latest unlocked Fine Salt consumers, or refer to the Cooking Recipes index article for a full list.
Fine Salt's Charcoal Kiln-only production line means a different set of station unlocks gates seasoning vs other base ingredients. Once you reach Apprentice Crafter and build the Charcoal Kiln, both Charcoal (for smelting) and Fine Salt (for cooking) come online together. Plan a Salt Brick mining run alongside your usual Softwood and Fiber gathering so the Kiln can run double duty.
Stockpile Salt Brick during deep-forest runs. The Crystalith Chamber is the most reliable salt source. Carry a Pickaxe whenever you enter the Moonlit Forest so a salt vein is never wasted.
Run two Charcoal Kilns. One Kiln dedicated to Charcoal and one to Fine Salt prevents the seasoning queue from blocking smelting fuel and vice versa.
Fiber is everywhere. The Fiber half of the recipe is trivial; the bottleneck is always Salt Brick.
Plan around recipe demand. Bulletin Board orders for cooked dishes often need Fine Salt. A small Fine Salt buffer keeps you from refusing high-paying orders.
