The property and estate system lets players buy and manage real estate within Silvernia. Properties provide ongoing resource benefits and may influence the game world. The system was available during the Monotype Beta under the name "Estate Investment."
Players can purchase properties in different districts of Silvernia. Once owned, properties can be leased out to generate passive resource income. The type and location of the property affect the kind of resources it produces and the rate of return.
The system integrates with character progression and resource management. Income from properties supplements the resources earned through combat, exploration, and quest rewards, giving players a passive income stream alongside active gameplay.
Properties in different districts may provide different strategic advantages beyond just resource generation. The specifics of these advantages were not fully documented during the beta period, but the system's name, "Estate Investment," suggests a financial management layer where players make decisions about where to invest their in-game currency for the best returns.
The system returned in the second closed beta with a fuller shape and a different name, City Property, and with its own currency. Properties are bought with Stocks rather than with Ounces, and a share of each invested property's revenue accrues to a management screen where the player claims it manually rather than receiving it automatically.
Three layers sat on top of that:
Layer | How it works |
|---|---|
Property investment | Stocks are spent to invest in properties across the city. Each one contributes a portion of its revenue to the pool, claimed by hand from the property management screen. |
Core buildings | Only one core building may operate within a given radius of the properties invested in, which turns placement into a real decision rather than a matter of buying everything. A core building's revenue rises when Stocks are spent to upgrade it and when a character is assigned to manage it. |
Landmarks | Location Value, Build Quality and Residents' Satisfaction are tracked per holding. When their combined total reaches a threshold, one of the city's landmarks becomes available to buy. A character can be assigned to a landmark as well, raising its investment returns. |
Assigning characters to buildings gives the roster a use outside combat, and property purchases feed the daily objective list on City Roaming and the exploration objectives that run alongside it. The figures and thresholds behind all of this were not published, and the whole layer is test-build material.
During the Monotype Beta, the property system had some bugs. The mid-beta patch specifically fixed Estate Investment error messages, indicating the system was functional but rough around the edges. It returned in the second test with the expanded structure described above, so the first test's rough edges were addressed rather than carried forward.
