Badge Trials

Corrected the standing claim that no English client exists
Badge Trials (徽章试炼) are Roco Kingdom: World's eight-badge series, a set of themed challenge gauntlets that the game rolls out one element at a time. The series echoes the badge journey at the heart of the Main Story's Eight Great Badges framing, but runs as its own live challenge content. The first entry, the Grass Badge Trial (草系徽章试炼), opened in the last week of July 2026 during Season 3: Lead-Type Dream.

The Grass Badge Trial is hosted at the Field Research Institute (野外研究院), where the researcher Roland (罗兰) guides players through a challenge the official posts frame as a test of choice and growth. Play around the trial can also surface a new leader form, Martial Cool Cat (武斗酷猫), which players have shown off as an unlockable encounter tied to the trial's launch window.
The full ruleset is published in the opening announcement. A run uses one owned spirit and three starting skills, then works through a path of 24 challenge nodes (three lanes of eight) mixing fights and random events. Along the way the spirit absorbs beaten opponents' traits, skills, and effect fragments, and can fuse skills to grow; health carries over between fights while energy refills, and trial tokens buy merchant upgrades or event rerolls. The spirit's cultivation stats apply (awakening values do not), the run fails if the spirit is exhausted, and three difficulty tiers unlock in sequence. Community clear guides note the run builds to a fight against the grand mage Roland himself.
Access requires magic level 50 with the Spirit Erudite (精灵博学者) rank and the main-story quest Crown of Grade Points (绩点之冠) completed. The event reward window runs from July 30 12:00 to November 5, 2026 04:00, and the mode itself stays playable with its regular rewards after the window closes.

Reward | How |
|---|---|
Grass Badge furniture piece | First clear |
Resonance magic: Photosynthetic Healing (光合治愈) | First clear; the first resonance magic to ship |
Martial Cool Cat leader token: Moonlight Canned Food (月光罐头) | Trial participation; transforms the grass spirit Magic Cat (魔力猫) into its new leader form |
Grass Badge backpack charm | Complete the adventure progress of all 18 element challenge slots |
Grass Medal (草系奖牌) | Clear the highest difficulty with different spirits |
Green Field Sketching (绿野采风) outfit, Light-Splitting Crystals, Wish Stars, cultivation materials | Accumulated activity points during the event window |
The trial's content is split across three chapters, each themed as a remembered place. The 24-node path described above is a single run through this content, not the whole of it: the underlying data set tracks 731 distinct encounters and 22 named bosses across the three chapters.
Chapter | Name | Chinese |
|---|---|---|
1 | The Remembered Somia Grassland |
2 | The Remembered Stone Circle |
3 | The Remembered Prata Grassland |
The Grass Badge Trial runs at three difficulty tiers rather than one. The chapters and their themed locations are identical across all three; what changes is how many opponent teams each chapter fields, and how strong the teams Roland brings to the finale are. Clearing the base tier does not exhaust the content.
Tier | Chinese | Chapter 1 Teams | Chapter 2 Teams | Chapter 3 Teams |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Grass Badge Trial |
Grass Badge Trial: Advanced II |
Each chapter is fought against a fixed opponent rather than a random pool, so you can plan a counter-lineup before entering. Chapter 1 is fought against a Researcher (研究员), chapter 2 against Yixi (易西), and chapter 3 against Roland (罗兰) himself.
Chapter | Opponent | Chinese | Team Size |
|---|---|---|---|
1: The Remembered Somia Grassland | Researcher | 研究员 | 4 spirits |
2: The Remembered Stone Circle | Yixi | 易西 | 5 spirits |
3: The Remembered Prata Grassland | Roland | 罗兰 | 6 spirits |
Roland's finale team is rebuilt at each tier, but three of his six slots never change: Hera (赫拉), Martial Cool Cat (武斗酷猫) and Curly Duck (卷毛鸭) appear in all three versions of the fight. The other three slots swap toward bulkier and harder-hitting picks as the tier rises. Preparing answers for that constant trio carries across every attempt, which makes it the most efficient thing to build around before pushing the Advanced tiers.
The trial draws its bosses from across the roster, including several leader forms that do not appear as ordinary overworld encounters. The named bosses are:
Boss | Chinese |
|---|---|
Holy Water Guardian |
Blazing War God |
Leaf-Crown Magic Cat |
Demon Wolf King |
Thousand-Thorn Sea Needle |
Queen Bee |
Phantom Bramble |
Mistscreen Black |
Storm War Dog |
Diamond Snail |
Black Cat Agent |
Ritual Colossus |
Snowshade Ice Spirit |
His Majesty the Chess-Pact |
Oddream Mi |
Pop Deer |
Holy Sword Knight |
Ilan Dragon |
Frostwing Lord |
Abyssal Luoyin |
Frostwing Lord is the leader form of the Storm Bird line and Abyssal Luoyin is the leader form of the Luoyin line. English names are literal translations of the Chinese, since no English client has shipped yet. An English and Japanese closed beta opens on October 27, 2026, and official English names may supersede these.
The confirmed event window is July 30, 2026 at 12:00 through November 5, 2026 at 04:00, and entry requires magic level 50 with the Spirit Erudite rank plus the main-story quest Crown of Grade Points. Three difficulty tiers unlock in sequence, and the mode stays playable with its standard rewards after the event window closes.
Only the grass badge is live so far. The remaining seven element badges still had no announced date as of late August 2026, and no trial for any other element has appeared; the series name and the one-at-a-time rollout are the officially confirmed parts. This page will pick up each badge as it opens.
Territory Trial for the endgame trial mode, Element Types for how grass-element matchups work, and Magic Level and Ranks for the progression gates most live events use.
