Overview

The Pokemon GO Pokopia Celebration Event is a limited-time crossover event in Pokemon GO that celebrates the launch of Pokemon Pokopia. Running from March 10 to March 16, 2026, the event features costumed Ditto debuts, themed wild encounters with Pokemon that play key roles in Pokopia, and special raid battles.

This event launched five days after Pokopia's release on March 5, 2026, and ran concurrently with the in-game More Spores for Hoppip event inside Pokopia itself.

Costumed Ditto

The event introduces two new costumed Ditto variants to Pokemon GO, marking the first time Ditto has received costume variants in the game:

Both costumed variants can appear disguised as other Pokemon in the wild, following Ditto's standard behavior in Pokemon GO. Players may encounter them when catching any of the featured wild encounter Pokemon during the event.

Connection to Pokemon Pokopia

The event Pokemon reflect Pokopia's focus on befriending and cooperating with Pokemon rather than battling them. All five wild encounter Pokemon are among the first creatures players meet in Pokopia's Withered Wasteland and Bleak Beach areas, while the three raid Pokemon correspond to key ability teachers and special Pokemon in the game.

The costumed Ditto variants are a nod to Pokopia's premise, where the player character is a Ditto that has transformed into a human. The hat variant references the construction helmet worn by Peakychu, while the cap variant references the player's customizable human appearance.
