Limited-Time Events

Major expansion with full Hoppip event walkthrough, all 10 picnic furniture items with costs, event habitats, Mystery Gift details, event mechanics, and participation tips
Pokemon Pokopia supports ongoing limited-time events that introduce exclusive Pokemon, special materials, and unique furniture items. Events rotate on a schedule and require certain game progress to participate. The game uses the Nintendo Switch 2's system clock for event timing, meaning events are date-coded to the console's internal clock rather than an online server.
Pokopia also features a Mystery Gift system for redeeming promotional items via the Pokemon Center PC. This is the first Pokemon spin-off title to include Mystery Gift functionality.
The first limited-time event in Pokemon Pokopia. During this event, players collect Cotton Spores from Dream Islands and exchange them at Pokemon Centers for picnic-themed furniture. The furniture is used to build event-exclusive habitats that attract Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff.

Requirement | Rebuilt Pokemon Center in at least one area |
Restriction | Not available on Cloud Islands |
Rebuild the Pokemon Center in at least one area. The event only activates in areas with fully rebuilt Pokemon Centers.
During the event period, Hoppip appears near the Pokemon Center. Talk to it to start the event.
Travel to Dream Islands by giving any Doll to Drifloon. Cotton Spores spawn on all Dream Islands during the event.
Collect Cotton Spores from the Dream Islands. You can visit one Dream Island per day per Doll type.
Return to any rebuilt Pokemon Center and exchange Cotton Spores at the event shop for picnic-themed furniture.
Use the event furniture to build the Yellow Carpet and Field-Trip Friends habitats to attract Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff.
Cotton Spores can be exchanged at the Pokemon Center for the following items. All items have unlimited stock during the event:
Item | Cost (Cotton Spores) |
|---|---|
Dandy Flower Seeds (x5) | 5 |
Hoppip Water Bottle | 5 |
Lunch Box | 5 |
Juice Trio | 5 |
Flower Backpack | 5 |
Flower Garlands (x10) | 5 |
Flowery Table Setting | 10 |
Flower Table | 10 |
Flower Cushion | 10 |
Picnic Blanket | 15 |
Two new habitats become available using the event furniture:
Habitat | Components | Pokemon Attracted |
|---|---|---|
Yellow Carpet | 4 Dandy Flowers arranged in a 2x2 grid (grow from Dandy Flower Seeds) | Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff |
Field-Trip Friends | 1 Flower Backpack + 1 Lunch Box + 1 Hoppip Water Bottle (2x2 grid) | Skiploom (exclusively) |
Dandy Flower Seeds must be planted and grown before they can be arranged into the Yellow Carpet habitat. Use the Rototiller move to prepare soil, plant the seeds, and water them with Water Gun.
Pokemon | Type | Specialty | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Hoppip | Grass/Flying | Grow | Appears at the Pokemon Center during the event. First Pokemon befriended. |
Skiploom | Grass/Flying | Grow | Attracted to both Yellow Carpet and Field-Trip Friends habitats. |
Jumpluff | Grass/Flying | Grow | Attracted to the Yellow Carpet habitat. |
These three Pokemon cannot be encountered outside the event period. All three have the Grow specialty, making them useful additions for farming and gardening. Players who miss the event window will need to wait for the event to return or a future distribution.
Community testing discovered that the event triggers based on the Switch 2's system clock rather than online server verification. Players can access the event early or after its official end date by adjusting the console's Date and Time settings (Settings > System > Date and Time > uncheck "Synchronize Clock"). Setting the date to any day within March 9-24, 2026 activates the event content. The development team has not indicated whether this will be patched.
The Pokemon Company has confirmed that additional limited-time events will be added to Pokopia on a regular schedule. No specific dates or themes for future events have been announced beyond the Hoppip event. The game's event infrastructure suggests seasonal events and holiday-themed content are likely.
Pokemon Pokopia is the first Pokemon spin-off to include Mystery Gift functionality. Gifts include furniture, food, materials, and other items. Mystery Gift is accessed at the Pokemon Center PC terminal (requires approximately 30 minutes of gameplay to unlock through the tutorial). A Nintendo Account connection is required, but a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not.
Head to any rebuilt Pokemon Center and interact with the PC terminal.
Select "Mystery Gifts" (or "Get Items" on some versions).
Choose "Get via Internet" for internet distributions or "Get with Code/Password" for code-based gifts.
Codes are 16-character alphanumeric strings. Enter the code exactly as provided.
Confirm to receive the gift items in your inventory.
Gift | Method | Contents | Available Until |
|---|---|---|---|
Ditto Rug | Get via Internet | Ditto Rug furniture item | January 31, 2027 |
Pokopia Release Commemorative Gift Set | Serial Code (from Japanese Pokemon X account) | 2 Leppa Berries, 2 Fresh Carrots, 2 Beans | February 28, 2027 |
The Ditto Rug is an early purchase bonus but does not require a pre-order; it is available to all players via internet distribution until January 31, 2027. Both the Ditto Rug and the Commemorative Gift Set items are also obtainable through normal gameplay. Check official Pokemon social media channels and Serebii.net for future code distributions.
Prioritize rebuilding Pokemon Centers before events start. The Hoppip event only works in areas with completed Pokemon Centers, so rebuild as many as possible for maximum Cotton Spore farming.
Visit Dream Islands every day during the event. Cotton Spores appear on all island types, so use a different Doll each day to maximize visits.
Buy Dandy Flower Seeds first (5 Cotton Spores). You need to grow 4 Dandy Flowers for the Yellow Carpet habitat, and flowers take time to grow.
Build the Yellow Carpet habitat to attract all three event Pokemon (Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff). The Field-Trip Friends habitat only attracts Skiploom.
All three event Pokemon have the Grow specialty, which speeds up plant growth. Befriend them early in the event to benefit from their specialty for the remaining event duration.
The system clock exploit allows access outside the event window, but this may be patched in a future update. Participate during the official dates to be safe.
Redeem the Ditto Rug Mystery Gift as soon as you can access the Pokemon Center PC. It is free and available until January 2027.
