Engineer Specialty
April 18, 2026 at 04:38 PM
Initial version (2026-04-18)
Engineer is a specialty held by exactly one Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia: Tinkaton, known in-game as Tinkmaster. Engineer is similar to the Build specialty but specifically oversees the largest construction projects, such as rebuilding entire Pokemon Centers, and accelerates the construction timer when assigned.
While any Build-specialty Pokemon can lead smaller structures, only Tinkmaster can lead the most complex multi-stage builds. Tinkmaster also crafts Tinkagears from Iron Ingots, a material used in late-game construction.
Pokemon | Notes |
|---|---|
Exclusive. Known in-game as Tinkmaster. Encountered in Sparkling Skylands. |
Engineer Pokemon can lead construction projects marked as "huge" in the Build menu, including Pokemon Center reconstruction stages that require multiple Pokemon workers.
Assigning Tinkmaster to a build site visibly accelerates the construction timer, completing projects faster than with a Build specialty leader alone.
Tinkmaster produces Tinkagears at her crafting station by consuming Iron Ingots. Tinkagears are used in advanced Sparkling Skylands construction recipes.
Like other lead specialists, Tinkmaster only leads one project at a time.
Feature | Build Specialty | Engineer Specialty |
|---|---|---|
Pokemon count | Many (Machoke, Timburr, and others) | Tinkaton only |
Leadable projects | Small and medium kits (houses, storage sheds, small shrines) | Huge kits including Pokemon Center rebuilds |
Speed boost | Standard rate | Faster completion |
Crafting outputs | None | Tinkagears from Iron Ingots |
Tinkaton appears in Sparkling Skylands as part of the main story progression. Her habitat requires workbench-themed items arranged together. Once befriended and moved into a furnished home, she unlocks the Engineer specialty for your settlement and begins offering Tinkagear crafting.
Prioritize befriending Tinkaton before starting the Sparkling Skylands huge-building projects. Those projects require Engineer to lead.
Stockpile Iron Ingots before meeting Tinkaton. Tinkagear production consumes them quickly, and the alternative paths to Iron Ingots are slow.
Tinkmaster also counts as a Pokemon worker for huge-project fulfillment, not just the lead slot. Place her on big construction sites to double up her value.
Engineer is one of the rarest specialties in the Pokedex. Tinkaton is the only permanent source, so make sure her home meets her comfort preferences to keep her in your settlement long-term.
