Dive is a move coming to Pokemon Pokopia in the free Version 2.0 update in August 2026. It lets Ditto explore underwater for the first time.

Overview

With Dive, you can swim below the surface, plant grass on the seabed, build structures, and create underwater towns alongside Pokemon. Version 2.0 launches at no cost, so the move reaches every player whether or not they buy the Expansion Pass.

How to Learn

• Complete the request Raise the environment level! in Bleak Beach.

• Be able to jump. Jump is one of the early Ditto Transformations moves.

• Know Surf, which is learned through Lapras at Bleak Beach.

Version 2.0 arrives in August 2026. The requirements above were published with the announcement, so you can prepare your save in advance.

Underwater Building

Dive extends the game's normal building loop beneath the water: the same grass planting, structure placement, and town creation systems work on the ocean floor. Underwater towns develop alongside the Pokemon that live there.

Pokemon Seen Underwater

Early footage shows Pokemon such as Magikarp, Psyduck, Piplup, and Vaporeon swimming alongside Ditto. The full set of underwater spawns and behaviors has not been detailed yet.

Relationship to the Expansion Pass

Dive itself is free. The paid Expansion Pass uses Dive as an entry requirement for Bubbly Basin, its underwater town arriving the same month. If you skip the pass, you still get Dive and full underwater building on your own island.

Tips

• Learn Surf and raise the Bleak Beach environment level now; both are existing systems you can finish before the update lands.

• Treat August 2026 as the window for both Version 2.0 and Expansion Pass Part 1; they are designed to slot together.
