Phantom Blade Zero has a substantial cast of confirmed bosses, each with their own multi-phase fight design and mechanics. The list below covers the bosses S-Game has publicly shown ahead of the September 9, 2026 launch.
Huangxing: a pyramid-helmeted warrior with a ball-and-chain flail.
Coppermaul (Wan Jun): a giant mace-wielding warrior who fights alongside Red Wraith.
Red Wraith: an agile combatant whose attacks require precise Ghostep counters.
Chief Disciple Seven Stars: a puppeteer controlling seven pawns with individual combat AI.
Boss fights in Phantom Blade Zero are dynamic, multi-phase, and central to the game's pre-release marketing. Most of the footage S-Game has shown publicly at Summer Game Fest, Gamescom 2024, and Gamescom 2025 prominently features these boss encounters. The S-PARTY 2025 demo showcased a 'Seven Star Sword Formation' level packed with boss battles.
On the hardest difficulty, Hellwalker, boss AI is upgraded to analyse the current fight context and adapt. Huangxing is the specific case S-Game has publicly described: his Hellwalker form uses a 'lucky draw' state that bases its next move on the result of his last attack, making the fight closer to PvP than to scripted enemy AI.
