The Cellar Door is a fine-dining sitting restaurant in Melino, the launch town of Paralives. Classified as a fancy restaurant, it is designed as a refined setting for elegant dates and upscale nights out, the most formal of the launch town's dining venues. It sits in the historical Old Town core, near one of the district's central plazas and close to several other businesses. See Town Venues for the full venue directory.
The building is split between a terrace and interior dining spaces, with tables on the first and second floors. A third floor exists but remains inaccessible and empty in the launch build. The interior is fully accessible to visiting Parafolk, including the kitchen.
A Parafolk can enter The Cellar Door, buy a prepared dish at the counter, and eat at one of the tables or take the meal to go. Four pre-prepared dishes are available, each priced at 20 paradimes.
Dish | Price |
|---|---|
Scallop Risotto | 20 paradimes |
Filet Mignon | 20 paradimes |
Burrata Salad | 20 paradimes |
Mushroom Pasta | 20 paradimes |
Because the kitchen is accessible, a Parafolk can also use the restaurant's fridge to cook their own food on-site rather than buying a prepared dish, an option shared with some of the town's other accessible restaurants. The dish-cooking systems are covered in the cooking and household pages.
The Cellar Door can be accessed between 11:00 and 23:00, hours that fit lunch and dinner service. During the Early Access launch the venue functions primarily as a detailed open-world social point of interest with counter sales rather than full waited table service. A Parafolk can still walk in, purchase a meal, and dine in the elegant setting. Fuller restaurant functionality, including seated table service, is part of the post-launch Roadmap and Planned Features.
The restaurant is located in the Old Town area, near one of the district's historic central plazas and within walking distance of several shops. The plaza setting puts it close to the cluster of named Old Town venues. As with every lot in the town, it sits in a seamless open world with no loading screens, so Parafolk can walk straight in from an adjacent lot or arrive by the PL130 bus line; see Bus Stops, Transportation, and Town Districts for the surrounding layout.
As a venue built around elegant dates, The Cellar Door is a natural destination for romantic and social outings. Shared meals at a restaurant fill the Together Bar and generate context-specific interactions through the Relationships and Social System and Together Cards, making a dinner here a productive way to develop a relationship.
