Overview
The Rain That Shook the World is an S-Class Solid Arc tuned for Cosmos damage dealers who lean on their Redirect Skill and Ultimate as their main damage windows. Its Hypervortex passive adds a flat Cosmos DMG bonus to those two skills and refreshes a Cycle Intensity buff every time the wearer casts a Redirect Skill, which keeps the team's reaction setup spinning while the wearer's own burst rotation cools down.
It rolls 512 base ATK at Level 80 with a 22% CRIT Rate substat, putting it in the same statline tier as the Fluff series and pairing the substat naturally with crit-scaling Cosmos carries.

Passive Effect
The Hypervortex passive provides the following effect at Refinement Rank 1:
Deals 30% increased Cosmos DMG with the wearer's Redirect Skill and Ultimate. Increases the wearer's Cycle Intensity by 36 for 15s after casting a Redirect Skill. Resets the duration when triggered again.
Refinement ranks raise the Cosmos DMG bonus and the Cycle Intensity boost without changing the trigger conditions. The table below lists the per-rank scaling.
Refinement | Redirect & Ultimate Cosmos DMG | Cycle Intensity Buff (15s) |
|---|---|---|
L1 | +30% Cosmos DMG | +36 Cycle Intensity |
L2 | +33% | +45 |
L3 | +36% | +54 |
L4 | +39% | +63 |
L5 | +42% | +72 |
Ascension Materials
Reaching Level 80 requires six ascension breakthroughs. Each phase raises the level cap; refinement is a separate progression that only requires duplicate copies of the Arc.

|---|---|---|---|
Phase 1 | Lv.30 | 20,000 | Beaty x4, Blurred Numeral x4 |
Phase 2 | Lv.40 | 40,000 | Beaty x10, Blurred Numeral x10 |
Phase 3 | Lv.50 | 60,000 | Versey x6, Unsolved Numeral x6 |
Phase 4 | Lv.60 | 80,000 | Versey x12, Unsolved Numeral x12 |
Phase 5 | Lv.70 | 100,000 | Harmony x6, Distorted Numeral x6 |
Phase 6 | Lv.80 | 120,000 | Harmony x12, Distorted Numeral x12 |
Best Users
Any character can equip any Arc, but the Hypervortex passive only pays off for characters who deal Cosmos DMG with their Redirect Skill or Ultimate. Solid arc compatibility on the wearer also adds the matching-type bonus on top of the passive.
Character | Element | Arc Compat | Why It Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
Cosmos | Solid | S-Class Cosmos sub-DPS whose World's Tide Ultimate and Redirect Skill both deal Cosmos DMG; gains the matching-type bonus on top of the Cosmos DMG passive. | |
Cosmos | Solid | S-Class Cosmos DPS with adaptable Redirect rotations; matches both the Cosmos passive and the Solid type bonus. | |
Cosmos | Gas | S-Class Cosmos DPS; gets the Cosmos DMG portion but loses the type-match bonus due to Gas arc compatibility. |
How to Obtain
The Rain That Shook the World is an S-Class Arc, so the standard S-Class acquisition methods apply.
Method | Details |
|---|---|
Scarborough Fair | Standard S-Class drop on the Arc Research Program weapon banner. |
Arc banner pity | Soft pity at 60 pulls; the featured S-Class has a 25% chance of being the promoted Arc on a limited banner. |
Tri-Key shop | S-Class Arcs rotate through the Tri-Keys exchange shop, which guarantees a specific Arc for 25 Tri-Keys. |
Strategy Tips
Build the rotation around Redirect Skill and Ultimate. The Hypervortex Cosmos DMG bonus only fires on those two skills; basic-attack-heavy rotations leave most of the passive on the table.
Refresh the Cycle Intensity buff with every Redirect Skill cast. Holding the buff at 15 seconds means the wearer's Esper Cycle reactions land harder for the rest of the rotation.
Pair with Solid-aligned support gear. Matching arc compatibility multiplies the type bonus, and Cosmos-element Drive Blocks layer further on top of the passive's Cosmos DMG line.
Refinement ranks 1 and 2 give the biggest jumps in Cosmos DMG; later ranks are smaller gains and are usually only worth chasing for a dedicated main carry.
