Overview
The Prison (detention center) is a full gameplay area in Neverness to Everness. When players are caught by the authorities through the Wanted System, they are sent here. Rather than being a simple fail state, the prison has its own activities, economy, and escape routes. It was introduced in the Co-Ex Test.
Arrival
Upon arrival, the player character changes into a prison robe and begins serving their sentence. The sentence length in in-game days depends on the severity of the crimes committed. Players can pay bail for immediate release, but the fine is steep.

Daily activities
While in prison, several activities are available:
Maintenance work A power-washing mini-game where players clean walls and surfaces. Functions like community service and can reduce the remaining sentence.
Cafeteria Access to the prison dining hall. Meals provide buffs for other prison activities.
Medical services Visit the prison doctor for healing.
Social interaction Talk to fellow inmates. Some NPCs are traders who offer items not available elsewhere.
Trading
Fellow inmates operate as traders within the prison. They offer unique items and services not available in the regular Hethereau shops. Building relationships with specific inmates can unlock exclusive trades.
Jailbreak
Players can attempt to escape. The jailbreak process involves stealing utensils, digging tunnels, and avoiding guard detection. This is a multi-step activity, not a one-button escape. Failed attempts may extend the sentence.
Debt and release
Time served or community service (the power-washing mini-game) works toward repaying the debt. Once the debt is cleared, the player is released back into Hethereau. Paying bail skips the process entirely but costs significant in-game currency.
Prison outfit
The prison robe worn during detention is a wearable cosmetic item. After release, the outfit becomes available as an optional costume. It serves as a badge of having experienced the prison system.
