Nightmare Cabin
September 9, 2026 at 09:49 AM
Initial version: Nightmare Cabin hub, New Game Plus, Mission Replay, Nightmare Challenges and day-one Photo Mode
Logan's Nightmare Cabin is the hub of Marvel's Wolverine, a dream version of Logan's home that sits behind the Nightmare Doors scattered through the campaign. Insomniac Games uses it as the home for the features available at launch, so everything outside the main story is reached from here.
Feature | What it does | Available |
|---|---|---|
A second run with exclusive Techniques and raised Level Caps. | At launch | |
Mission Replay | Re-experience snippets of the story from a stage selector. | At launch |
Nightmare Challenges | A score attack mode built around beating high scores. | At launch |
Photo Mode | Free camera capture, usable at any point during gameplay. | Day one update |
New Game Plus ships with the game rather than arriving in a later patch, which is a first for an Insomniac Games release. A second run carries your progression forward and opens Techniques and Adaptations that the first run does not have, along with a higher level cap. The systems those unlocks feed are covered on Progression and Upgrades and Combat.
Mission Replay is selected from the cabin. The left side of the screen lists stages broken down by location and mission name; picking one shows a description of that level and a tracker for how many of its collectables you missed.
That tracker is the practical reason to come back. Nothing in the game is locked away permanently, so a missed crate or bottle can be picked up on a return visit. See Collectibles.
Nightmare Challenges is the cabin's score attack mode, described by Insomniac as slashing high scores. The scoring rules, the stage list, and the relationship between this mode and the timed trials behind individual doors have not been published.
Photo Mode is the one cabin feature that is not in the game on release day. It arrives with a day one update, which needs an internet connection and an account for PlayStation, and once installed it can be used at any point during gameplay.
The tools shown ahead of launch cover camera precision and tilt, visibility toggles for Logan and for enemies, visual effects, light types, filters, and backgrounds. A shortcut for it also appears in the accessibility listing as an item added by the launch update for disc copies; see Accessibility Options.
