The Sun Tower is a Wonder in Honor of Kings: World's lore, documented on the Honor of Kings worldview portal. Per the Hou Yi hero story, Hou Yi was ordered by the superbeings to destroy the Sun Tower as atonement for the superbeings' enslavement of the feralis. In his pursuit of destruction, Hou Yi was drawn to the Sun Tower's brilliance, absorbed its Wonder power, and was cursed to a deep slumber as a consequence.
From the Hou Yi hero story on the portal: "Hou Yi is the only heroic marksman in the world to be made an \[enforcer\] by superbeings and trusted to carry out their will. He was ordered to destroy the Sun Tower as atonement for the superbeings' enslavement of the ferali. In his pursuit of destruction, the power-seeking sharpshooter felt inevitably drawn to the Sun Tower's brilliance and thus absorbed the Wonder's power, which cursed him to a deep slumber. When he woke up, the world was truly Hou Yi's hunting ground."
The portal uses "the Sun Tower" in the singular, not "the ten Sun Towers" or "the Sun Towers." Earlier wiki drafts described this as "the ten outer Sun Towers that lit up Celestia" and tied it to the Chinese myth of Hou Yi shooting down nine of ten suns. That framing is NOT supported by the English lore portal. The portal presents a single Sun Tower as a single Wonder that Hou Yi was sent to destroy, and does not specify a number greater than one. The framing of ten suns / ten towers must be treated as an inference from mythology rather than a portal-verified fact.
The Sun Tower is one of the Wonders in Honor of Kings: World's worldview. The Navenia region page of the portal lists four specific Wonders in the local Navenian context: the First Wonder (Eternal Fountain), Second Wonder (Wonder Falls), Fourth Wonder (Sea of Stars), and Eighth Wonder (Ship Lift). These are all Navenian landmarks and not part of a pan-world enumeration. The portal does NOT publish a complete list of Twelve Wonders, and the Sun Tower's position in any numbered Wonder list is not specified. Earlier drafts placing the Sun Tower as "the First Wonder" should be treated as speculative.
The portal's framing of why the Sun Tower was to be destroyed is consistent with the broader Ferali rebellion narrative. The Sun Tower represented the superbeings' power, and destroying it was framed as "atonement for the superbeings' enslavement of the ferali." This ties the Sun Tower directly to the Wukong rebellion story and establishes the Sun Tower's destruction as a reckoning for the ferali's suffering under the superbeings.
After destroying (or while destroying) the Sun Tower, Hou Yi "felt inevitably drawn to the Sun Tower's brilliance and thus absorbed the Wonder's power, which cursed him to a deep slumber." This establishes two important facts: (1) the Sun Tower contained Wonder power that could be absorbed by a willing recipient, and (2) absorbing that power came with a curse that put Hou Yi to sleep for an extended period. When he awakened, "the world was truly Hou Yi's hunting ground," suggesting a dramatic change in his role or the world's state during his slumber.
The Sun Tower is canonical Honor of Kings IP lore and applies to both the Honor of Kings MOBA and Honor of Kings: World, which share the same Primaera continent continuity. The Sun Tower is the first of the Twelve Wonders, built by the Gods to channel Primaera energy to Celestia. It is tied to the Hou Yi and Feralis storyline in MOBA canon. Its direct presence in Honor of Kings: World S0 Season launch content is referenced symbolically; the central Jixia landmark Tongtian Tower is a different, newer structure.
