The Overflow Vessel (溢光露盏, Yìguāng Lùzhǎn, literally 'Overflowing Light Dew Cup') is Honor of Kings: World's anti-waste mechanic for the stamina system. Once a player's stamina reaches the 360-point cap, any further natural regeneration is deposited into the Overflow Vessel instead of being lost. The vessel holds up to 1,000 points of banked stamina.
Cap trigger: When stamina is at 360 (the daily cap), regeneration goes to the vessel instead.
Vessel cap: 1,000 points. Regeneration beyond this is lost.
Withdraw: Players can convert vessel contents back into usable stamina on demand through the stamina interface.
Offline persistence: The vessel works during offline periods, so players who cannot log in daily still accumulate meaningful stamina over the next several days.
Tencent designed the Overflow Vessel specifically to reduce 'access anxiety' (上线焦虑), a common complaint about live-service F2P games where players feel pressured to log in daily to avoid losing stamina. The 1,000-point vessel means a player who skips three to five days still has stamina waiting for them instead of having lost it. This is one of several launch-time design choices (no character gacha, cosmetic-only monetization, cross-platform cross-save) intended to make Honor of Kings: World more player-friendly than typical gacha-first competitors.
The vessel works alongside the 180 daily bonus stamina from the three meal windows (60 at lunch, dinner, and late-night snack each). Players who consume their daily meal bonuses while stamina is already at cap will deposit those bonuses directly into the vessel. This means the meal bonuses are never wasted even if the player cannot spend stamina immediately.
The natural pattern is to spend stamina on the day's priority activities first (event quests, daily dungeons, gear runs) and let the daily meal bonuses top off the vessel. Players who cannot log in for several days return to a vessel close to its 1,000-point cap, which yields a long burst of usable stamina once withdrawn.
Time daily meal bonuses (60 each at lunch, dinner, late-night snack) so they land while stamina is at cap; the bonuses then route directly into the vessel.
Withdraw vessel stamina before tackling the most stamina-heavy activities of the day so the day's regeneration restarts the cycle.
Treat the vessel as insurance against missed logins rather than as a target to grow indefinitely; once it caps at 1,000, further deposits are lost.
Tencent has framed the Overflow Vessel as a counter to access anxiety in stamina-gated live-service games. By preserving stamina that would otherwise be wasted at cap, the vessel reduces the pressure to log in every day and aligns with the game's other player-friendly launch decisions: cosmetic-only monetization, no character gacha, and cross-platform cross-save.
