Overview

Mulan (花木兰) is a Resonance (共鸣) in Honor of Kings: World, confirmed in the S0 Season launch roster on April 10, 2026. She is a 对抗 (Confrontation) Resonance whose narrative identity is the leader of the Great Wall Guard Army (长城守卫军), a military order stationed along the northern frontier. Her signature mechanical identity is a dual-form switch: her base stance uses dual blades for fast, mobile combat, and her ultimate switches her to a greatsword stance with heavier, slower strikes.

Identity

Mulan is adapted from the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, a young woman who disguised herself as a man to take her aging father's place in the imperial army. In Honor of Kings she is framed as the commander of the Great Wall Guard Army, an elite defensive force stationed along the continent's northern border to protect against incursions from the Northern Wilds. In Honor of Kings: World she fights alongside Kai, another Great Wall Guard Army member, and the two are often positioned together in the game's marketing.

Combat Role

As a Confrontation Resonance, Mulan draws enemy attention, absorbs damage, and deals respectable offensive output. The verified HoKW-specific detail is her dual-form mechanic: she starts in a fast dual-wield stance optimized for mobility and combo output, and her ultimate switches her to a slower greatsword stance with heavier attacks. This creates a two-phase combat loop where players accumulate aggression in the dual-wield form and then spend it in the greatsword form for big damage spikes.

• Against groups of weaker enemies, stay in dual-wield for faster clearing

• Against bosses, save the greatsword form for when the boss enters a vulnerable state

• Pair with a Support Resonance who can amplify her greatsword burst (Xi Shi, Sun Bin)

Great Wall Guard Army Context

The Great Wall Guard Army (长城守卫军) is a named military order in Honor of Kings: World's lore. Both Mulan and Kai are confirmed members. The Great Wall region in the Northern Wilds (北荒) is a confirmed post-launch area for the game, so Mulan's S0 questlines likely establish the Great Wall Guard Army context before the full Northern Wilds region opens.
