Hero Record is a permanent side-content system tied to individual Heroes and their Resonances in Honor of Kings: World. The current Chinese UI name is 英雄录, and early-game guides repeatedly frame it as the place to do hero-specific record quests once the first main-story level gates appear.
Early progression guides place Hero Record Resonance tasks behind daily quests, event tasks, and broad exploration in the opening level-up priority, but still recommend doing them once the story slows down.
Around Level 20, Hero Record becomes one of the clear recommended side paths to work on while waiting for the next main-story gate.
Hero Record is separate from Companion Invitations and separate from Dream Realm Events. It is not a temporary event tab.
Beginner launch guides describe Hero Record as the route to all heroes' initial forms.
The current appearance catalog for multiple launch Resonances lists the default appearance as being obtained through that hero's Hero Record entry.
Confirmed published examples include Dongfang Yao and Master Lu Ban, whose default forms are both tied to Hero Record completion.
At least some Hero Record entries are built as hero-specific quest chains that end with a record or imprint completion step. Dongfang Yao's published side-story route ends by completing his hero imprint inside Hero Record, which then unlocks his default appearance for use in the appearance menu.
Complete the relevant Hero Record entry or hero-specific record step.
Open the Appearance menu from the main interface.

As the player protagonist, this character's default appearance is set during character creation rather than through Hero Record. See Character Customization. | |
Other launch Resonances | Specific Hero Record default-appearance unlocks for the remaining S0 Resonances are not yet consolidated in current English-language sources. The pattern is consistent (Hero Record entry unlocks the appearance), but per-hero specifics should be verified in-game. |
