Donghuang (full name Donghuang Taiyi) is a major antagonistic figure in Honor of Kings: World's lore, documented on the Honor of Kings worldview portal. Per the Misty Marshes region page, he is a Second Seer who sought and mastered the Spell of Reincarnation, was "baptized in the Wonder's power," and now leads the rebel Omniscient faction from Misty City (also known as Donghuang City) at the highest point of the Misty Marshes.
Donghuang is one of the Second Seers, a group that emerged generations after the First Seers. Per the Misty Marshes region page: "Among them, Donghuang, Augran, and Dongjun were of similar age and were once good friends." The three shared a youth together in the Order of the Seers but ultimately took different paths. Augran became the ruthless High Priest, Dongjun fell off the historical record in the portal text, and Donghuang pursued forbidden techniques that eventually led him to schism from the Order.
From the Donghuang hero story on the portal: "Disgusted by mediocrity, Donghuang Taiyi never had any plans to grow old and die like some commoner. Thus, he sought to unravel the mystery of the 'spell of reincarnation', and when he succeeded, he was baptized in the Wonder's power. Reborn, he was within a stone's throw of gaining powers to match those of the superbeings themselves. But nothing is forever, and soon the reign of the superbeings came crashing down. After this disaster, Donghuang Taiyi began to accumulate a different power. Sapping strength from the earth and from the heavens, he began to amass followers, believers. His goal is the same: to prove that he is, indeed, a being of supernatural powers."
His signature line on the portal is: "The eclipse is near... and so is my miracle!"
Per the Misty Marshes region page, Donghuang leads a rebel faction called the Omniscients. The faction's philosophy is that Seers are superior to those they protect, a direct departure from the Order of the Seers' service ethos. The region page describes: "No longer did they work in harmony with the forest's energy; instead, they channeled it through the Spell of Reincarnation, taking it over. The Omniscients take lifeforce from wherever they can find it and inject it into Aeramber, which they use to create weapons or directly infuse into their bodies. The supply of this Aeramber is controlled by Donghuang himself and distributed as a so-called gift from the superbeings. This technique allowed him to rapidly expand his organization within just a few years."
Per the Misty Marshes region page, Donghuang's base is Misty City, a city hidden in the clouds at the highest point of the Misty Marshes. The city is also called Donghuang City because of his occupation. Misty City was originally the sacred meeting place of the First Seers until they were defeated in the War of Wonders, at which point the Second Seers moved to Spritefly Forest and Misty City fell into ruins. Donghuang later occupied Misty City with his Omniscient faction, turning the former sacred site into the headquarters of the rebellion.
Within Misty City, the Altar of Rebirth is "an altar at the heart of Donghuang Palace where the First Seers once sacrificed to Nuwa and communicated with the Heavenly Tree, now used by Donghuang to hold Eclipse Rituals once or twice a year." This is the canonical portal-verified named location for Donghuang's ritual practice. The "Tree of Reincarnation" mentioned in earlier wiki drafts is NOT a portal-verified location; the correct name is the Altar of Rebirth.
Earlier wiki drafts described Donghuang as "the first human to ascend to superbeing status" through a "Tree of Reincarnation." These framings came from Fandom rather than the official portal. The verified portal framing is different:
Donghuang is a Second Seer, not a human-born figure who became a superbeing from scratch
The Spell of Reincarnation brought him "within a stone's throw" of superbeing power, not all the way
His ritual space is the Altar of Rebirth (portal-verified), not the Tree of Reincarnation (not in portal)
His goal is to "prove that he is, indeed, a being of supernatural powers," not to seize an Ark core
He uses Aeramber (a Misty Marshes mineral) as his power distribution tool, which is unique to the Omniscients

Donghuang (东皇) is canonical Honor of Kings IP lore and applies to both the Honor of Kings MOBA and Honor of Kings: World, which share the same Primaera continent continuity. Donghuang is a MOBA Support/Tank hero and a major lore figure who resides above the Misty Marshes (云梦泽). He is not a playable Resonance in the S0 Season launch roster, and the Misty Marshes region is not on the launch map. His lore remains canonical for Honor of Kings: World.
