Enhanced with verified launch date (Spring 2026 China), Liu Cixin collaboration, annual region commitment, confidence notes on aggregator data
TiMi Studio Group has outlined a multi-phase content roadmap for Honor of Kings: World. Lead Designer Simen Lv confirmed at GDC 2025 that the game is designed as a long-term live service project, committing to introducing one brand-new region annually to keep the world fresh. The game launches in Spring 2026 in China on PC and mobile, with global timing expected to follow.
October 2021: first announced by Tencent Games and TiMi Studio Group as an open-world action RPG based on the Honor of Kings IP
November 2021: collaboration with science-fiction writer Liu Cixin (The Three-Body Problem) announced, contributing to the game's world-building and mythology
June 2022: TiMi L1 Studio partnered with Level Infinite for worldwide publishing
2024–2026: multiple closed beta phases (Beijing in-person, PC-only, cross-platform)
Spring 2026: confirmed launch window for China on PC and mobile
The launch version includes the core open world (64 sq km), the main story campaign (10 chapters, 40–60 hours), five distinct regions, 15 heroes across 11 classes, 30+ dungeons, the first 8-player raid, PvP modes, and the initial roster of Flow styles. All fundamental systems — gear, skill trees, guilds, crafting — are available from day one.
Level cap at launch is 100. Simen Lv stated at GDC 2025 that the launch content represents approximately 30% of what they have planned for the game's first two years.
The first major update adds the Forbidden Mountains region — a high-level endgame area featuring treacherous terrain and the Temple dungeon. The update also introduces new Flow styles, a new raid encounter, and the first post-launch story chapter.
New region: Forbidden Mountains with new exploration content and enemies
Temple dungeon: one of the most challenging endgame dungeons
New characters: three new hero-based Flow styles
New raid: 8-player encounter in the Forbidden Mountains
Story continuation: new main quest chapter
The second major update introduces player housing and a pet companion system. Players can acquire, decorate, and upgrade personal living spaces with furniture crafting. Pets are collectible companions that follow the player in the open world and provide minor passive bonuses.
The first expansion-scale update adds an entirely new continent to the game world, significantly expanding the explorable area. The level cap increases to 120. A new class — the Monk — is introduced. The developers have described the new continent as having a distinct visual identity and cultural inspiration compared to the launch continent.
Between major updates, the team delivers regular patches that include:
Balance adjustments: Flow style and gear tuning based on player data
Seasonal events: limited-time activities with exclusive cosmetic rewards
New Flow styles: additional heroes adapted as Flow styles on a rolling basis — with the goal of eventually including every Honor of Kings champion
Community events: in-game tournaments, guild competitions, and collaborative challenges

The specific v1.1, v1.2, and v2.0 content breakdowns come from third-party aggregator sources compiling Chinese beta data — these are widely cited but may reflect beta-state plans rather than finalized commitments.
