Overview

Cai Wenji is an Honor of Kings MOBA hero who has not been confirmed as a playable Resonance in Honor of Kings: World as of the April 10, 2026 S0 Season launch. In the Honor of Kings MOBA, she is a support hero with music-themed healing and buff abilities, drawing on the historical Cai Wenji (also romanized Cai Yan), a Han Dynasty poet and musician.

Cai Wenji is not in the confirmed S0 Season launch roster of Honor of Kings: World (April 10, 2026). The verified 11 S0 Resonances are: Child of the Primal Flow, Dongfang Yao, Xi Shi, Meng Ya, Master Lu Ban, Sun Bin, Wang Zhaojun, Jialuo, Mulan, Kai, and Leng Chun. Cai Wenji may appear in Honor of Kings: World as a future playable Resonance (several MOBA heroes have been shown in pre-launch trailers and demos) but has not been officially confirmed as a playable character. Any specific HoKW ability descriptions on earlier versions of this page should be treated as unverified.

MOBA Identity

In the Honor of Kings MOBA, Cai Wenji is a support hero whose kit centers on music-themed abilities that provide healing and defensive support to allies. Her MOBA role fits the "classical healer" archetype common in MOBAs. If she is added to Honor of Kings: World in future seasons, her kit will likely be rebuilt as a 辅助 (Support) Resonance, similar to how other MOBA heroes have been adapted for the action RPG format.

Historical Background

The historical Cai Wenji (Cai Yan, c. 177 to 250 CE) was a celebrated Han Dynasty poet and musician known for her literary skill and for the poignant poems she wrote about her experiences being captured by northern nomads and later ransomed back. Her story resonates with the broader Han-and-Northern-Wilds themes of Honor of Kings: World, particularly in the context of the Wolf Banner tribe and Wang Zhaojun's envoy narrative.
