Overview
Iia (also spelled Iya in some sources) is a seaside town on the continent of Lusciell, located within the Plane of Reality. It's the starting location for Honkai: Nexus Anima. The town sits on the coast with beaches, dense urban streets, and a local Arena where Animasters compete in Nexus Battles. The atmosphere is relaxed and vacation-like. Think a Mediterranean-inspired coastal village with fantasy elements layered on top.
Starting the game
The player arrives in Iia as an amnesiac newcomer hoping to become an Animaster, unaware of their true identity as the World-Ender. Nanafey, a local student, lets the player stay in her home. From there, the player meets Hua (a fellow aspiring Animaster), Maple Manybell and Cassio Rollex (the Deputy Arena Masters), Jalily (the Arena Master), and Kiana (a Planestrider working on behalf of the local authority). The early game revolves around learning Nexus Battles, collecting the first Anima, and qualifying to progress beyond Iia's regional championship.

The Committee for a Joyful Iia
Iia's municipal authority is the Committee for a Joyful Iia. This governing body manages the town's affairs and deals with local threats, including the Aspect Fracture near the town that Kiana is investigating. The Committee represents the civil government alongside the Arena's competitive hierarchy, not everything in Iia runs through the Nexus Battle system.
Named locations
Nexus Hall
The central hub for Nexus Battle administration in Iia. This is where Arena challenges are organized, rankings are posted, and Animasters gather to sign up for matches.
Aniwon Plaza
A public square in the center of town. It serves as a social gathering point where NPCs and players congregate. Events and announcements happen here.

Montemar Academy
An educational institution in Iia. Whether it teaches general subjects or specifically trains Animasters hasn't been fully clarified, but its presence suggests Iia has a structured educational system beyond just Arena training.
Romanesque Hall
An architectural landmark in Iia. The name suggests Roman or classical influence in the town's design aesthetic.
Kampete's Gallery of Wandering
A gallery space, possibly an art gallery or exhibition hall. The name "Wandering" hints at traveling exhibitions or collections from across the Planes.
Quick Bites
A fast-food establishment in Iia. It prominently features Frigull, the French-fry-themed seagull Anima. The food-themed creature serves as the restaurant's mascot. A natural fit given that many Anima have food-inspired designs.

The Arena
Iia's Arena is the first competitive venue the player encounters. It's run by Arena Master Jalily, with Maple Manybell and Cassio Rollex serving as deputies. Winning through the Arena's challenges earns the right to travel to other Planes and take on more difficult regional championships.
The Arena also serves as a social hub where other Animasters gather, trade information, and spectate matches.
The Amphitheater
Beyond the local Arena, there's a larger venue called The Amphitheater that top Animasters aspire to reach. Hua is especially focused on qualifying for The Amphitheater, and reaching it drives much of the early narrative.
Activities
Outside of Arena battles, Iia offers various mini-games and social activities: Anima racing, balloon shooting, demolition, seesaw play, and water balloon fights. The surrounding areas feature wild Anima for Bond Encounters. The town's day-night cycle can be fast-forwarded by sitting on benches scattered throughout the streets and waterfront.
