Nanafey

Overview

Nanafey is the face of Honkai: Nexus Anima and one of the first characters the player meets. She lives in Iia, the seaside town where the game begins, and kindly lets the protagonist stay in her home while they get started as an Animaster. The game describes her as a young girl and ordinary student, "pure, innocent, and kind" and "the pride of Iia, loved by all." She has long blue hair and a color palette of cool blues and whites that matches the relaxed coastal setting.

She appears prominently in promotional materials, key art, and the game's official trailers. Her design leans into the warm, approachable aesthetic HoYoverse is going for with this title. Friendly rather than dramatic, casual rather than intense.

Role in the story

When the player arrives in Iia as a newcomer, Nanafey acts as an early guide and host. Through her, the player learns about Nexus Battles, the local Arena system, and the basics of interacting with Anima companions. She introduces the player to Iia's community, including Hua, the Deputy Arena Masters, and the town's various locations like Aniwon Plaza and Montemar Academy.

Beyond the initial introduction, specific details about Nanafey's involvement in the larger narrative (her connection to the Planes, the Novarchs, and the mystery of the Sundering) haven't been revealed.

Kardia ability

Nanafey is a 4-star Kardia character. Her Exclusive Principle is called "Small-Town Girl". When set as the battle leader, it targets the allied Anima with the highest MP pool and grants two buffs for the battle's duration:

• Energy regeneration increases to 3 per 2 seconds

• Magic damage output rises by 18%

This makes her a natural leader pick for teams built around magic-heavy Anima like Blasters and Masterminds. The buff targets automatically, so players don't need to micromanage which unit receives it. The Anima with the highest MP pool gets it by default.
