In the Old Camp path he is the natural contact for the Fire Circle ladder; in other paths he still turns up as a recurring face with his own opinions on the Colony's power struggle. 1616 A Hero who commits to the Old Camp and wants to follow the magic route works toward Fire Circle initiation through Milten. The early tasks Milten passes the Hero are framed as Fire Circle errands, but they double as the introduction to Magic and Runes and the discipline of crafting runes inside the Circle. Senior Fire Mages evaluate the Hero only after Milten has vouched for them.
